Oo nga! They need it especially down southern coast of the country in Tawix2 and Sulu area. Kahit mga sampo muna. That would be great if the US NAVY can help the Philippine Navy to tackle the extremist groups in the southern Philippines 🇵🇭. Having this patrol boat squadron for the Philippine Navy or Philippine coast guard would definitely boost their ability and morale.
comparing the se patrol boats with US patrol boats used in the vietnam war to patrol vietnam rivers, the US patrol boat in vietnam were formidable. the PT boats use in this video will not last or not effective during the vietnam war.
What a waste of taxpayer defense spending. This is a job for the coast guard, which easily has the weapons, training, equipment and personnel to conduct domestic river patrols. Could be a very limited overseas role for navy in this arena, but even that would probably be best left to coast guard.
USA outperforms & always has the most ready forces ONLY do to not stopped training. If something broke out it is very training you see would make the difference. Plus only after years of training do you make a good instructor yourself. So it's not wasted funds and it's not for the Coast Guard. Armchair quarterbacking😡
After my went over Afghanistan as an Navy MA and worked at the Parwan Detenion for a year in the Army, as a volunteer IA. He came back with injuries from Outside the wire Missions. The Master Chief pulled him over to the MESRON Unit 11, aka Coastal Riverine Squadron Unit. He deployed to the United Emerates. 1st deployment and Djubuti 2tnd Deployment. He just retired at 20 years in the Navy. He loved the CRS the most..... Proud of all that serve our country....
My little brother is about to graduate to squadron 3 and I just found out today and he told me to look it up so here I am! I had no idea this existed either but it's very interesting and comforting knowing he stateside
If anyone can please tell me how to become one of them like what rates most likely get into that etc etc I can’t find any info I really wanna know pls lmk
Anyone can get orders to this unit. It’s a 3 yr billet I believe. If you want to do real cool guy shit on boats. Go to SWCC school. You will graduate as an SB

These small US Navy Parole boats can be transported around the world (on the decks of much larger US Navy Warships) into hot spots that the Coast Guard would not encounter.
I was just going to say "too much broken glass". When I was in the NAVY my chief would have had us replace it, ESPECIALLY if it was going to be video'd...
Not only are their COMMS horrible, but broken glass windows in the pilot house, and zip ties galore being used to lash & secure items together. Does not speak well to Big Navy's attention to safety while at sea, and/or it's ability to keep vessels in a good state of maintenance readiness. Makes one kinda wonder where this Squadrons CO priorities lie.
It is not swcc, this is a MSRON or more commonly known as a coastal riverine squadron but it’s all different “mos” or as the navy calls it rates, this is just an assignment one can get im in one rn
Wonder if they ever trained to secure, say, the Savannah river or one of our other small ocean-dumping rivers. With just a couple hundred Marines alongside and the navy bringing the bullets, beans and bandages upriver behind these wonderful craft. Ahhh, armchair amphibious assault.
