So how did the US support the ICC in the Russia/Ukraine war? When Russia isn't a signatory and Ukraine is one? The reason is that the ICC has judristiction when either party is a Signatory or if crimes happen in a country or state that is a signatory. For eg. Russia although not a signatory committed crimes a country that is one Ukraine and Israel which isn't a signatory committed crimes on the soil of a state which is a signatory Palestine. It is simple and again US officials are being very disingenuous. I mean there is no doubt that issues Jurdistiction or right or wrong isn't the issue with the US. The main issue is that the ICC is going after a country that America acts as a protector for. We know this by the blanket statements made by US officials for many decades that "America's support for Israel is Ironclad", "America's support for Israel is unconditional". Well after you say something like that there really is no coming back. You made your bed and you prove yourself to be biased and not fairly assessing somoneone. You support them regardless of what they do and that is the situation with America right now.
@@ChrisAlbertH47 I have to correct myself on one part I thought the Ukraine was a signatory. The Ukraine is not even a signatory. It just recognized the ICC authority for this conflict. So even a worse situation you have both Russia and Ukraine not being signatories and the US supporting their ability to give arrest warrants to Putin. Then saying Palestine isn't a full state although the ICC has recogized them and they are a signatory. So blatantly biased is the US and extremely confradictory.
The ICC supposedly _"doesn't have jurisdiction"_ over Israel because 1) it is *not a signatory* to the ICC and 2) the ICC did not _follow through_ with "going to Israel" to explore whether it "could investigate itself." On the other hand, the ICC "doesn't have jurisdiction" over Hamas either because _"Gaza is not a state."_ Instead, Gazans are "answerable" _to_ the Israelis. Unfortunately for the U.S., it turns out that Palestinians _are_ signatories to the ICC *despite* not having a state!
lol😂 are you referring to Israel? You must be as Palestine isn’t even a state. The devil wants the world to believe Israel is Godforsaken. But we all know false Gods are those who are actually forsaken. So how long have you been worshiping Satan?
@@Lynette.usa. Actually no… under international law, an oppressed population has the right to arm resistance, however they see fit, in order to end the occupation. And the occupier actually doesn’t have a right to self defense. We could argue that H**as committed war crimes and should be prosecuted on those. With facts only and not the propaganda accusations.
Actions speak louder than words... Words - "As Im sure you're aware, the United States has long been an advocate for the Palestinians having their own independent state" Actions - Undermines it for decades and consistently votes against it in the UN.
It was originally the creation of a state of Israel within Palestine. Now, the dialog is about creating a state of Palestine. When did Palestine get lost? It was with us in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Did it die with Yassir Arafat?
The reporters need to go harder at miller to call out the lies and excuses made by miller like that would do to if was one of trumps people if they were up there speaking telling lies and denials be tuffer reporters ask tuffer questions and hold matthew miller accountable for his lies and moving the goal post to to protect Netanyahu from his crimes also.
no you got it wrong matt you dont have jurisdiction because you provided weapons that are used in War crimes .. you have RESPONSIBILITY . and complicity in those War crimes..
The problem is that the Israeli justice system is being blocked/slowed by the prime minister who represents Likud.. even Gallant recognizes there is no actual plan in place to help Palestinian civilians. This is unacceptable
Desperation is what this is. They continue with the political theatrics and cease-fire deal. There’s no political will from the United States or Israel.
Are Israel and the United States member of the I.C.C.? The answer is: NO. Who would be bound by the court's founding principles? This has nothing to do with the new changes. The International Criminal Court will investigate and try those individuals charged with: Genocide, war-crimes, crimes against Humanity and the crimes of aggression. In the U.S.A. we will be considering the incompatibilities with the I.C.C., Ambition, expectations, focus, efforts, attitudes, and the environment. Would all this allow the trials of U.S. Citizens for crimes committed on U.S. soil? Would it be otherwise conducted within the judicial power of the United States? Is President Biden offering a different view, What and Why? Obliged! REM
No one is making an equivalency between Kkhammasss and Izraeli officials. Because in some cases, what the Izraelis are doing is worse. But a comparison isn't needed because each can be indicted and prosecuted based on their own actions and their unique cases, so this whole argument about equivalencies is just nonsense from an administration that is either concerned or highly embarrassed about the prospect of their complicity in war crimes.
They actually do have jurisdiction in the matter whenever they step on Gaza land, which is Palestine and West Bank, which is Palestine so stop with the propaganda
The plane crash was a big deal. Those were the senior leaders who ran the country and a top right hand person. It is a horrible incident, that could advance tensions in the region.
Like my gym membership, had all access pass for 7 years, visited stacks of times at other clubs for 7 years, even up to few weeks ago, then they flaged me, spoke to state manager and he says out system shows you never had a full club pass, you only ever had blue, but I can see die to your hundreds of visits that's clearly not correct....
Momentarily stunned....Matt...well said. How do you have jurisdiction? Right question for sure... when they do what they like...support icc..when they don't well, listen to the answer. Matt is so smart, should they have gone to doha or gaza to verify. Countries which are not signatories should be treated in the same way...
What an amazing day for history.. They will be studying this day in the future. The mainly Western ran ICC prosecutor has called to give arrest warrants to Israel. No wonder American politicians are stressing 😂😂😂😂🇵🇸🇵🇸
These guys are becoming more and more irrelevant. They are so out of touch with humanity. I’d like to see no one turn up to these briefings and let them just fade away. They’re only running on narrative and without journalists the narrative will die along with them.
You mean the journalist who knows his stuff and doesn't let the bloviating Miller continue to go on a five minute spin that doesn't answer the question. That's Matt Lee, who is very respected for going after the truth in state dept spin sessions
