A lot of you guys are downing this guy for doing this but if this is his way to purchase a truck then good its not always about getting paid from the get go, if his business is stepup to run this way then he's good, when he's done with lease he has a truck that can run on his authority, can stay there, lease on another company, with no debt, so keep on and focus on the end game.
Ignore how I say $424 on the first load info, I know it's $425 lol I was exhausted from a full shift, I also said the truck payment was monthly, I ment weekly!
Thanks for all the info, going tostart there in May as lease op.... you answered a few questions I had and settled my nerves on lease op decision. Thx again.
I appreciate your positive attitude and the fact that you aren’t slamming any company. I’ve subscribed and will be watching. How long is your lease for?
Excellent review of US Xpress Lease Purchase Program!! Great Detail and a lot of very good informtion about how to manage your money and how the settlement breaks down!
Man I'm talking with US now and I have to say, as a retired driver thinking of getting back into it? Last time I drove, Aug 2017, I was a o/o; owned, not leased. Told lease operators make between 1200-1550$ a week after everything taken out. I'm use to bringing home anywhere from $3000-$6000 a week- gross. If I go back, guess Ill go back as a company. Other comments are correct. You bring home some, company gets the most. Wait until you actually own the truck. Pay check is going to change dramatically! Also, look into hiring a authority. Much cheaper then company dispatch. Other then that, very informative video. Stay safe driver
I’m not picking on you but how on earth do you survive on $1.24 per mile with a lease truck? That load probably actually pays That company like $3.00 per mile. smh
I was thinking the same thing. I had a truck leased on with USX and it didn't last very long. You need at least 2.00 pm plus fuel and that is almost a break-even load. These companies fill new drivers with lots of BS. Most of them couldn't believe how good it use to be back in the 70s
Thanks for all your videos. I will be starting with CDL School on the 20th U.S. Express is sponsoring my training so I will be starting with them. Thanks for all your vids great work.
Bond Deposit - If you are still with the lease program at week 170 you start earning back $200 a week each week til the $5K is paid back, or if you leave before the 4 year lease term is complete. The $200 goes into an account so to say, and anytime after that once you leave whatever is built up will be given back to you.
You say the truck payment is a little bit over $500, fine however, what about your insurance payment? What about your tax? Your tag? All of your permits? The people I work for take my truck payment out every week which is about just over $500 a week. But they also take out the insurance for my truck, bobtail insurance, the rental fee from my computer, the rental fee for the equipment that I use(flat bed equipment) Of course I'm sure you're over all fee might be less than mine but what about all that other stuff?
I just finish run a trip from ID to FL 2668 Miles paying $10,400 . Man for sure you can work for companies as company driver and get Pay $2k-2.5k weekly
I'm 2yrs as a company driver and been contemplating heading on a lease just make more $$. I run on average 2500-3000 a week. The company I work is giving me .54 a mile after taxes I'm make about 1200$ or more. But I have not seen other companies offering more
@@DarKHorsE84 all lease company will take advantage on you . I recommend u save 15 k , 5 k will be using as a down payment to a good truck dealership to get a good used truck no more than 5 years old . Them go under someone authority with a good rate % like 13% . The another 10 k is to cover if you have any breakdown . It’s is what I did and now I have 3 trucks and my own authority . . I’m still driving one of those until I have 5 .
One thing about the taxes. Good rule of thumb is to put straight 30 percent of your take home aside for taxes. In my experience you usually don't pay exactly 30, usually somewhere 24-26, but better to have it in the bank to be able to pay it in your quarterlies than to have to scramble and starve to make up for it. So for instance, your gross pay minus truck expenses is 2610.66. 30 percent works out to be 783.198. Myself I would have just rounded that up to 800 in case. Whatever the IRS doesn't take at the end of the quarter is what I would consider a "personal" bonus. So for anyone who is looking for answers to the pay, factoring in Gross wages minus truck expenses minus the taxes this driver would be looking at 1300 ish a week.
You can depreciate your truck value on your taxes if you lease under an EIN number instead of your social security number. So many more tax benefits when you register as an S-corp or LLC.
@@mistailluzionthatrucker2675 You should always pay yourself from the LLC. Less taxes and helps establish a basis where you can actually qualify for a home loan. You always need 2 years of W2.
Thats no money I do a lot more than that but I own my truck I don't pay for there truck you will never see any money they take out they are ripping you off you can't make it at 1.00 per mile my last check for 2300 miles was over 5000 after fuel and insurance
is this guy a solo driver? Is it possible to legally drive 3164 miles in a 70 hour period using ELDS? All carriers now have to use ELD and I am thinking of getting back into trucking via a USXpress lease purchase (did one in 2003 range and did pretty well). So I am thinking of jumping back in.
I was told, the reason for lease purchase, is a way to buy a truck. Is it the best way? I thought truck payments are weekly, around 900.00 a week. For a New truck. How 500-600 a month? You can't buy a car for that. If you pay off the Truck in 4 years, 900 a week payments, you will have a truck with over 600,000 miles on it. Will you get a Million Miles before major overhaul? I guess it's worth it, get it overhauled for 25-30 grand. Time will tell if it's worth it. At least you don't have to search for loads. Right?
Ok so if you add the taxes up at 30%, that's $1200 and that's just for federal. Then you have social security, Medicare and state taxes if you live in a state that charges income taxes. So out of your $2600 take home, you pay your truck payment and taxes. That doesn't leave you with very much money. It way more worth it to just be a company driver
You need to ask what the discount is for TA/Petro now that your driver you get the saving of like $50 or more if you fill up at TA/Petro its usually hire then Loves that $8 in points isn't going to be worth that saving plus the showers are nicer at TA's, petro's are ok. But you should Check a Dealer ship cause that bond is just a down payment basically they call it what ever but if your paying that payment for 4 or more years you would pay over 50k more then that truck is worth without the extra mileage fee's and whatever else they are charging you! I would save up a deposit and go buy my own and go to Landstar, Mercer or after 3 years Traveloko pays 86% load pay which is usually $2.39 -$3 a mile but can be higher. On the discount you want see it on the receipt or we didn't it would show up on the charge to the fuel card is how we noticed Learned but watch trucker brown and loshawn fuel up!
If your young an single go for it. This is good money. 5 days work 2 grand. Minus truck payment. But still good pay. No rent, storage, electricity, water save save save.
Us Express is ok for a beginner but after a while you will realize you can make way more than a buck a mile and run less I have lease purchase for us Express and now currently working for hirschbach I make an average take home solo 2600 a week running 2500 miles a week you will never make that at us Express unless you run teams. But if you go that route you will need a new truck and you will make double the truck payment s also stay away from T leasing at us Express major rip off .
I've done it, maybe not quite 3100 miles, but close like 2800-2900 miles. You fill up only just enough to deliver each load, and when the pay period ends you need to fill up but you don't cuz you don't want to effect that week settlement.. you wait until next day
Non-Trucking (Bobtail): Insurance This insurance policy provides coverage for property damage or bodily injury that Independent Contractor may inflict on another party when not under the dispatch of U.S. Xpress. Non-Trucking (Bobtail Plus): Insurance Carrier - This insurance coverage supplements the Non-Trucking (Bobtail) policy by reducing the $1,000 deductible to $250 per occurrence and per line of coverage for trailer, cargo, third party, and environmental claims.
It looks like after Taxes you're making the same as a Company Driver...except you have a truck at the end. I'm curious to know...#1how long was your Lease Purchase for,#2 did you get a used Tractor and if so how many miles were on it, #3 Can you pay off the Loan/Lease sooner without a penalty???
Pretty much gross 3900 and take home 1000.00 for a 3000 mile week because between 950.00 set aside for taxes and then truck payment .. you are making.33 cents a mile That’s crazy They are robbing you !
Hi how much do you get paid for orientation? Do you get paid for training and how much? How long does training last if you already have class a license? Thx in advance
Does US Express pay for Tolls or is that the responsibility of the Leasee? what would you say if the average take home of a leasee after expenses? I heard some say around 12-1300 Net and they still have to pay taxes on that. Does U.S. Express use a load board or dispatched? Thanks for the honest videos it helps a lot.
Usxpress lease drivers DO NOT pay tolls! They use dispatchers and average pay for me is around $1500-$1700/week. I've made more but that's pretty much average.
so how long where u in school it will six weeks cause I had 2 do General Knowledge Test 3 time on the school but I did the I on my own is that ok our no
I'm in truck driving school currently & I was leaning towards going to us express after school is over, my question is do you pick your own loads off the load board, what's the process for picking loads at us express
It's dispatch loads, as a lease driver you can turn down any load you want to but I haven't had to turn anything down so far., as a company driver you can't turn down anything.
stay away from load boards, you will become too picky and that hurts you. it did me. They dispatch but it is not forced dispatch. Its best to accept anything they offer so you keep the truck running. If you get too picky like I did at Universal Am Can on percentage pay with load boards you wont make much. Because you will be like that too sucking on rate, meanwhile you wait for something better to come but it never does, next thing you know your sitting for several days. So I learned my lesson there.
sir. been watching your videos. how did you get started. did you have money saved up. before your first fee months out like just in case tires pop. i applied for the lease option an waiting for the green light. my wife is all negative about getting into a lease sayin I should have ten grand before i sign anything. I'm doing it because I'm making Jack as a company. an want my own truck. give me some advice
You don't need any money saved, the first 3 weeks there is no payments so everything you makes is yours, solo you should bring in 3k plus a week during the first 3 weeks. So you will have somewhere around 10k in just 3 weeks.. After that the payments kick in you will average 1200 to 2k a week depending on your miles..
1 year at least, enough to know what it's like on the road, as well as experience getting maintenance done and knowing how to manage fuel for each load
Dude no offense but you’re not too intelligent are you. On two loads you need to subtract that $500 sign on bonus because you’re not gonna get that every week. And why would someone sit straight up in their seat for 34 hours because that’s what it seems like you’re doing waiting to takeoff. You need some social guidance
Wow I’m following you on RU-vid and was just about to ask this question.. Prime allows you to do lease program straight out of training after you finish 20,000 miles which is like 2 months
