I know this is an old post but..I remember being one of the local crew at ETIHAD Stadium in Melbourne. This was my very, very first loadin/out of many gigs over 10 years professionally. I was on the groundlay crew for loadin and essentially roadcase pusher for out yet, It's still the biggest concert I've done. It started an amazing career in audio and lighting and met some great people along the way.
I’m a rigger in the entertainment industry so I’m pretty jaded and don’t get impressed by much, but ... working on this when they came through DC was pretty godamn impressive. Also garnered me my first experience operating a boom lift/condor (thanks Danish guy) which got me into tv/film. Fun fact, each of those legs had 3 follow spots each and I ‘manned’ one of them.
@@davefroman4700 I feel like the U2 one is hard to top I mean it took them days just to put it together. but I'll try to find a vid of the Rammstein one.
that was the best stage i had ever seen at a concert it was so fucking insane and the lights were so cool, defiantly the best concert i've ever been to
What an amazing spectacle! That stage is unbelievable, and it's great having a chance to see how it all comes together. Thanks again for inviting The Ruse to play the Rose Bowl pre-show on Oct 25.
66 thousand at last nights show in aucks...2 and half hours of light and sound extravaganza.. well done u2 you have taken concerts to whole new level :)
Simplemente maravilloso !!!!! Gracias a Dios vamos a poder disfrutar en marzo del 2011 en Argentina del 360 tour !! Sus shows son excelentes desde todo punto de vista, musical, sonido y visual !!!
amazing. seeing them in Vancouver last week changed my life. sadly, i did not get to see the claw to much cause i had GA tickets, so instead i had to wait outside from 4 in the morning . haha, its alright though , having bono sing RIGHT infront of you is pretty good too.
i was there to with u2 360 tour in amsterdam 20 and 21 juli 09 standing 2 meters from the stage. just amazing, expecially when these bridges went over our head Edge standing 1 meter from us playing the solo of untill the End of the world than Bono behind us. it was like we were in a u2 DVD of u2 elevation boston soooo amazing
The first and the last part ( Crane and closing the truck) is not taken @ Olympiastadion Berlin ;-) It was a great experience to help building the stage! The Crew was great especially Ludo the old belgium guy... Red steel...
Something tells me that being a roadie is not all that glamorous. Looks like a lot of work. Does anybody know what stadium this is, and where it's located?
It´s not "just" a Stage, their is much more Information in this Clip! Especially for "innovative" Architectures. This Construction is like a BIG Mongol Nomad Jurte. I will build my own one, in some years. Very similar way to build, (with a lot BAMBOO and HEMP) like this kind of ON THE ROAD Tent, hehe! LIVE LONG AND PROSPER \\//
@beatlloydy your very right, bono is very serious about the world and stuff like that, but he aims to please, and apparently this is going to be their best tour in the world
would be pretty expensive to ship that production to Singapore.. but then again, they are loaded. tehy have 3 stages, yes 3. that way they can leap frog around the world. one will be set up while one is being used while the other is being taked down. hope you see the show
I remember like, 2 years ago, there was a video where they showed the stage being transported by cargo planes and stuff, showing the logistics behind it but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone knows where this video is at?
en San Sebastian ya esta listo. esta noche va a reventar donosti, los qeu no tengan entradas que sepan que en la plaza de toros de ilunbe se escuchara mejor que dentro.
What venue was this? I'm working local crew in Baltimore at M&T Stadium with the Blue Steel team. It's definitely the most insane gig I've ever worked. I feel like I'm putting together some kind of six story mecha-tank monster.
it's funny because i done set up and set down for the U2 360 tour last week in my city and i got a free 360 crew shirt. at the end of the video that guy still had shitloads to do as the boxes behind him isnt even on trucks x)
i know the 18 month tour will run 150 million. Google search U2 stage cost and you will see a great article about the tour and the the logistics of it.
haha yeah thats funny actually im going to the seattle show and this time im getting seats :p But yeah i suggest going very early. I was 112 in line and i got there at 4 in the morning. :P
Not a word from them about the situation in Ireland, They are developers like the rest of them, have another bottle of expensive wine, peep out from your mansion , and weep a tear for for the underdog, it wasnt JOE STRUMMERS autograph , you got signed on that book , so many years ago Bono,Strummer handed it to A well known Dublin Punk and said sign that !
