It's easy to listen to the Edge and think "I can do that" but the truth is no one else did until he came up with it. When you watch his guitar part played the way it's meant to be played, you realise how special and creative it is.

I remember when I was a super U2 freak in the eighties and the metal heads would totally slam the Edge, and did a horrible job at their jobs when the time came. I worship you my friend. I wish you were on stage in 1991 in front of thousands when I sang this song. Regardless, this super stuck up bombshell beforehand, did a 180 after I got off the stage. It would have been better if this uberU2 genius was the guitar player instead of who was on stage. I would have cried just zooming in on this guy. WOW>

I remember on the Classic Albums episode Edge was saying he could have gone the whole epic shred thing but he chose to go in the exact opposite direction and this is the result.

He's using an ebow...an electronic bow. Edge used it on the Zoo TV tour version of WOWY (see Sydney DVD) Before then he sued the infinite guitar device and since then various Fernandez sustain guitars. This is pretty good. I should post one of these too showing that the HD500 can produce a decent Vox simuation as well as controllable 'shimmer' sound. The Veg

O shimmer (octo) é uma variação de efeito reverb. A diferença é que essa reverberação tem uma oitava de nota e esmaece todos os tons como se fosse uma "orquestra de cordas / violinos" no fundo das notas que você toca na guitarra. Você consegue perceber bem o que o efeito faz aos 1:08 quando eu aumento o efeito e ele fica mais aparente. 2:26 também tem bastante shimmer. Esse efeito o The Edge usa demais nas maioria das musicas.

On First Sight.... I Think The Edge Is Just A normal Pop guitarist...... But after listening to U2.... I Know That He Is More Talented That Heavy Metal Guitarist that can Play as fast as Bullet..... Cause He Didn't Aim For The skill....... He Aim For The Melody..... He Just Created A very simple riff but It's so beautiful and make people fall in love with it..... Not Just His Talent to make a beautiful song.... But every member in the band(U2) have a connection about the same thing....
