Achtung Baby, Zooropa, and POP - U2's trinity of 90's versatile & creative greatness. U2's spectacular album *PoP* in particular truly rendered mainstream music and many of their fans emotionally polarized & dumbfounded; however, in my irrefutably correct opinion, "PoP" is as tremendously outstanding as "Achtung Baby" and "Zooropa". U2's first single from PoP, *Discotheque* - from the exhilarating initial listen on the radio to its awesome music video debut - will always be one of the most exciting, amazingly memorable memories as a relatively new fan. Absolutely loved every moment: especially viewing U2's monumentally scintillating POPMart tour twice, consecutively, in Toronto, Canada.
Was front row of outdoor portion of Actung Baby Tour, ChicagoLand - at the time known as The WORLD MUSIC Theater - Tinley Park, IL. I touched Bono's stretch-leather jacket when he would jump down into the crowd. He's a little-man! The show was powerful, creative, moving, and there will never be another show like this again. I heard the 1980 Pink Floyd- The Wall Shows were unreal.
Noel Gallagher would watch this VHS documentary constantly when he was a roadie with the Inspiral Carpets and they would take the p iss out him for doing so!
I've often wondered this as well. I think the best explanation is this is a bit of Bonolese to the Muslim call to prayer. Much of the cover of Achtung Baby was shot in Morocco.
Actually it's more Daniel Lanois + U2 = Achtung Baby. Lanois is the main producer on every songs. Eno wasn't there for some of the sessions. Eno did not produce Zoo Station, So Cruel, The Fly, Acrobat and Love is Blindness. Played additional instruments or arrangement on some only. ENO+U2=ZOOROPA and PASSENGERS.
