This video was taken in Miami during their Elevation tour. "Jesus" is an audience member named Matthew that had been holding up a sign that read, "Knocking On Heaven's Door - G, D, A Minor". Bono brought him onstage saying, "It pays to advertise." Matthew is wearing an INXS - Kick tshirt, which is what inspires Bono to start singing, "A beautiful boy..." about his good friend (& INXS' lead singer) Michael Hutchence, who passed away in 1997. He sang the wrong lyrics, because of his father, he's just died before the elevation tour so, that's why he changed the words to dedicated to his father i think Great version best band ever because music and soul is their only goal
U2's version reminds me of Elton John's candle in the wind.. Where did Bono's vocals go in Albany where the world doesnt know when it all went bad where the sun doesnt shine on the dark side of the moon..
He was just winging it but, even so, it sounded good if one didn't listen too closely! Bono has confidence even when he's at a loss, no question about that.
