This takes me back to 5th grade when Apple dropped this album on everyone’s phone and I would listen to this on my iPod touch 4th generation on repeat on my way to school 🥰
Felt compelled to tell this story after waking up and remembering this story: I was in the third grade, my county's school district had decided to get Ipads for the kids. At the time, the U2 album came free with every apple product. This was my favorite song, and I listened to it all the time. At the end of the year, the final exams came around, and we had an auditory portion of the exam so we needed headphones. I decided it would be a wonderful idea to sneakily listen to this song before they "locked" our Ipads from exiting the testing app. I listened to it and was vibing to it for a good bit. Until I had to listen to it for four consecutive hours. I was in my own personal hell, the members of U2 staring back at me in my mind. I finished the whole test while this song was playing, and once I finished I slammed my head against the desk and cried. Raised by wolves, motherfuckers.
I had this song set as my alarm for the three years of my middle school life. I’m just now hearing this again as I’m a junior. I don’t know whether I missed this song, or If I despise it.
U2 is a band with the a big history. You could do a lot worse than checking out some of their past music. Have you ever heard the song 'With or Without You?
I remember around the time this song came out, I didn't have my own device so whenever I was in the car with my dad I would always ask to play this song, and its still a bop.
Face down on a broken street There’s a man in the corner in a pool of misery I’m in a white van as a red sea covers the ground Metal crash I can’t tell what it is But I take a look and now I’m sorry I did. 5:30 on a Friday night 33 good people cut down I don’t believe anymore I don’t believe anymore Face down on a pillow of shame There are some girls with a needle trying to spell my name My body’s not a canvas My body’s now a toilet wall I don’t believe anymore I don’t believe anymore Raised by wolves Stronger than fear Raised by wolves We were raised by wolves Raised by wolves Stronger than fear If I open my eyes, You disappear Boy sees his father crushed under the weight Of a cross in a passion where the passion is hate. Blue mink Ford, I’m gonna detonate and you’re dead Blood in the house, Blood on the street The worst things in the world are justified by belief Registration 1385-WZ I don’t believe anymore I don’t believe anymore Raised by wolves Stronger than fear Raised by wolves We were raised by wolves Raised by wolves Stronger than fear If I open my eyes, You disappear
Garff Bono’s son collaborated with him on this song he was inspired by his troubled childhood with his stepfather who physically abused his much loved mother Diane she was as strong as any wolf and stood her ground every time he also catalogues several events which tested his Faith but he never lost his belief in his wolves and their protection
My children were raised by wolves- their family were all brave and inspired courage within them. All they had to do was to think of their wolves and know they could face anything that life had to throw at them
So beautiful !!! I wish you all a fantastic, fun, happy and a blessed Monday !!! Good New Week!!!Sweet greetings and warm hugs, kisses to all my dear friends !!! Stefan 🍀✌😍☀️ !!!
I was six years old when the bombs went off. My older cousin missed the Talbot Street bomb by about 30 seconds. I remember hearing the stories of the aftermath, when I went into school the next week. A baby blown up into the air and found on a roof with the soother still in her mouth. I thought that last one was just childhood exaggerated stories until I met the family of one of the victims and discovered that it was true. Dublin and Monaghan bombings, May 1974
ive been trying to find this song for 5 years. it was randomly downloaded on my ipad and when my ipad broke i forgot the name and everything until i stumbled across it today
The lyrics of the song is so amazing, and the beat and the depth of what the song means is wonderful. It's a fucking pity that the music video is wasted on an animal documentary, with no link to the Ireland bombings, or how we've become de-sensitised to horrific news.
0:23 That's a coyote. You can tell because the snout isn't as broad as a wolf's, the nosepad is smaller on coyotes, the ears are also too long and pointy at their ends to be a wolf.

Cian Mansfield Well, when Bono sings, "We were raised by wolves", he is saying humans have become savages...to each other. You think it's about God? When he sings, "I don't believe anymore", I think he means he is losing his faith in humanity because we act like wolves. (killing each other with violence, guns, bombs, knives, grenades, our bare hands)
***** Interesting. What do you think Bono means when he sings, "I don't believe anymore.....". Perhaps, it is a reference to the God of the Bible? Bono is fed up with God having the power to stop evil overflow but does nothing. Very much like the song, "Wake Up, Dead Man".
Cian Mansfield not like they profit off these they just like to make these for fun they can’t profit cause they didn’t you know literally make any of it but yeah
This song only uses wolves as a comparison to how barbaric we as humans have become, and its sad that people don't see the true meaning of the song. Im not a big fan of u2 but when I heard this song I gained more respect for them.
I remember that apple put this album on the school iPads and in 5th grade I would put this music on because it was the only music I could listen to to distract myself from class, till this day is stuck on it
