There are very few moments in live music as predictably and reliably joyful as that moment at a U2 show when you and the 50,000 people around you all simultaneously realize they're about to do Where The Streets Have No Name, and you all start cheering. I'll die on that hill.
Rob Harper SAME 😭 I have watched a bazillion times the live version from Rattle & Hum from the Tempe, Arizona show, and I well up each and every time. When I saw this one, it did not miss. So much emotion, so much energy, I can't handle it! And memories from when I was a teen listening to U2 and dreaming of a better world...
I actually like the New Year's Day in the lower key. It makes sound more "moody" which i absolutly love. and Pride was never done in the original key except on the unforgettable fire tour.
4:15 Edge breaks a string, doesn't panic, switches guitars in a smooth, timely manner (again, doesn't panic), then plays the new guitar like nothing happened. A true professional.
Thanks for these great videos. I don't understand how people who've been to U2 shows, who know what U2 is all about, continue to complain about "the politics" - they're artists. Artists are on our front lines of expression. of FREE expression. They have a platform for a reason.
It was SO powerful. The music is already etched into our minds, but the imagery was mind-blowing. Music and message were put ahead of the men. I understand those who were looking for something else, but for me, it was perfect.
ombra di quello che furono. il triste video sullo schermo non fa che accentuare la tristezza di non vederli piu' in grado di proporre qualcosa di nuovo
Just when u think the camera can't zoom in any further, wait for it....:-) amazing. Can't wait for them to come to Cleveland! I am a fan(atic) :-) thank you for posting this!

I totally agree as there were a few issues with this first show (that I was at as well). Though there were some first show creases, I found that the crowd was the biggest issue. Out of the many U2 shows I've seen, this one had the least amount of crowd feedback, of the usual frantic energy most shows have. It was a very odd feeling as I've never seen a crowd so subdued at a U2 show. Alas, it was still a brilliant experience as I saw it with my best friend who flew out from Philadelphia to be with me. It was a celebration as the two of us saw the original Joshua Tree tour show in Montreal, back in 1987. Because of this, even though the crowd was oddly absent, it was en emotional milestone that I'll never forget. I love you Mike. And of course, the Irish lads, Paul, Larry, Adam, and mr Edge. Easily the best Rock n Roll band in history.
To BONO, LARRY, EDGE AND ADAM. I LOVED YOU IN CONCERT AT VANCOUVER. I may have only seen some songs on U2gigs.com, But in my word all the way in S.A. YOU WERE BLOODY BRILLIANT U2, YOU JUST GET BETTER AND BETTER. I wish I was there and the other concerts, but it is just not possible. IT HURTS SO MUCH NOT TO SEE YOU U2 I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH U2. IT IS TIME YOU COME TO AUSTRALIA MORE U2 IN ADELAIDE S.A. LOVE YOU U2 KAREN HELBIG. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Amazing sound quality from the band, but Bono's voice and physical presence is a shell of its former self. I watched Popmart from Mexico City a few nights ago, and it's like a different person. In that concert he was flying around, jumping, dancing and even sprinting (on WTSHNN no less) around the stage for 2 hours... It was amazing. Bono here is boring and old, and I love the artist that is Bono, bit it's the truth. Sad.
There is a song that talks about Heaven being a place where all the glory, all the honor, all the recognition and attention revolves in Christ alone. Not streets signs that say: George Washington Boulevard, Abraham Lincoln Boulevard or MLK Blvd, because all the glory, all the honor and recognition belongs to JesusChrist. Someday we are going to Where the Streets Have No Name.
U2 today is a cover band of herself. Bono lost the brightness of his voice. The Edge lost the inspiration of their chords. I love u2, but this on the stage is not U2!
Hopefully this tour will bring practice and they can get back the groove of the 1987 tour... they are older now.... but oh man.... I don't care... I'll see em in 28 days!!! Dream come true :)
Too bad I can't get my money back. Not only nowhere as good as the last tour, but almost formulaic. Worst of all, all the political HORSE SHIT had no place in this show. People go to concerts to escape and enjoy. Even if it were political opinions I agreed with, I'd still feel cheated. We paid to listen to great music, without having it interrupted by sophistry and bullshit.
How can anyone have a problem with women's right or supporting the eradication of AIDS in Africa or the world over? However, that's NOT why we were there. Shameful display of selfishness and self-importance.
Actually, YOU, are the IDIOT. This is my fourth U2 concert. Never, and I mean, NEVER before, dis they pull this kind of stunt. This wasn't political, it went wrll beyond that. Springsteen, Bonjovi, lots of others have political opinions, too--and strong ones. But not like this, and not so convoluted either. It wasn't even the energy that I saw last year out of Daltrey and Townsend--two septegenarians!!! U2 simply came to town, tuned up, spent some money in local bars, restaurants and belt shops. Beyond that, they went through the motions, eventually lecturing us. Fuck them! They'll never see my money again, and I know ALOT of people who felt the same.
Oh, how articulate! Another SJW triggered!! LMFAO. You're pathetic, as is your generation. Democratic free speech counts only if you agree with it. LOL!!! Thanks for the laugh, precious.
You're an illiterate child with a horrible attitude. I do not relish such speeches or any other speeches when I pay $6800.00 to fill my suite with my associates that are all left wondering why U2 feels it's altogether acceptable to steal money from people with sub-par performances and political sophistry. Give my best to Rosie. She in your lap already?? ROTFLMAO! Seriously, thanks for the laughs. Bless you.
