A mixture of Mgla and Inquisition-riffs. Unfortunately this song is just good at some parts, I´m missing the power and atmosphere which is disturbed by the slower Mgla-parts. Resume: They have some potential but need to free themselves from the influences.

+Frater Oculus I think we don't hear the same Black Metal releases. MGLA is good but they are far from being the best black metal band from these past years... listen to Cult of Fire, Arkha Sva, Suhnopfer, Darkenhold, Krallice, Mare Cognitum... all these bands (and these are just few names) have release albums far better than any MGLA's ones.

For hipster/elitist people who think they are a mgla copy clearly dont have much of the idea of how diverse bm could be and surely are not bm fans except for a couple of bands(mostly the most notable second wave norwegian bands and the almighty mgla who has spawed the genre for the last two years) and clearly dont know the difference of being inspired and being a copy cat for example : carach angren being inspired from dimmu borgir or satanic warmaster being inspired from early darkthrone, or outre from deathspell omega. Uada is a great newcomer band and i hope everyone who has backslashed them has a chance to see them live... because they're in for a great experience.

Wojciech Łyskawa Mgla is one of the best black metal bands and i dare say one of the best metal bands ever. However that doesnt mean just because another band has mgla influences its a copycat. Bands that have followed the trend of one another have been since sabbath and priest time, great composition should be appriciated even though it is of a "similar" style.

yeah but drawing similarities to mgła is based only on thier looks and i am pretty shure that midnight pulled of that look first. Musicaly they are not so similar to me. Mgła is more monotonous they hang on a riff longer. Vocals are completly different. UADA has lot of guitar harmonies and these primitive rythmic parts.

I am so glad that black metal, itself, managed to evolve in waves accordingly due time. Hence I am a devoted fan of the genre, I never understood the purists and their debates. With all those 'so-called heresy', shoegaze and indie influenced post-variations, experimental stuff such as Zeal & Ardor, stretching the boundaries of the naturist aspects that consisted of ancient, religious beliefs onto ecology activism and anarchy, obscure, anonymous artistry styles... I am happy to see how it's evolved this way and stays as unique as it's ought to be.

How are they not musically similar to Mgla? They're extremely similar, especially in the guitar work and song structure. The only thing that can't be compared is the drumwork, because Mgla blows Uada out of the water there.

The only similarity is they are both melodic. Mgla relies more on hypnotic long songs where as Uada keeps it more diverse. They are both awesome bands but Uada has listed their influences before and MGLA is not one of them.

Im highly influenced by Mgla and I sound not like them. Just monotony, but not copyright-analfisting a song. Heres a couple of riffs that sound influenced by Inquisition. But the first riff is an Mglas one. Therefore, this song came out over a year after Exercises In Futility. You must be recently getting into nowadays Black Metal for dont being noticed about Uadas Exercises In Plagiarity. This is Mgla but Made In China.

Great band, just saw them live at L'Anti Bar in Québec City yesterday. Awesome performance. I didn't know who they were before I bought my ticket back in August. I bought my ticket for 1349 and UADA were there too, as well as Cloak. Great evening of beer and black metal!

Ripping off other successful artists seems to be the thing nowadays. After Devil's Blood there was a wave of this "occult psychedelic rock" shit with originality less than zero. Now we see hoods and leather jackets everywhere. I find it ridiculous someone has to push his fanboy mentality this far that he both copies the music and image of other band. Rather stay with minimalism of Mgla than these music videos and other attention whoring.

A good amount of artists take inspiration from their idols musically and sometimes from image. Like norwegians took the spikes and leather from Sarcofago. It would have been just fine if they had just taken inspiration from the image or music of Mgla but they decided to do both and end up looking a cheap copy of them. I just cant take this seriously.

Oh ffs! again with the toxicity of the metal scene! you have to ruin everything! I LOVE both bands, why the salty ripoff comments? unless you get BJs or money from MGLA you need to stfu and enjoy music... they did not claim they are pioneers or anything! just another addition to a very beautiful niche of black metal, instead of enjoying this and pushing them alongside MGLA you start fanboying and shit. And then complain why is metal and metal fans hated... smh, having a band and being signed to a label is no easy task today, you risk losing a stable job for a shot at a musical career and you are not making it easier on aspiring artists, funny how most of the comments complaining are not about the quality of the music, just on them being a ripoff, MGLA 2 nah thanks,,,, sigh.....
