my mom loves ub40 when I asked her if she knew this song she was so happy she said it has been YEARS since she has heard this song, finally made her happy for once lol
UB40 has taken me back to the 80s. I wish I had the Power to see those days just for 30minutes and come back after to reality. It is only God who has that power. I will then have to say, the GOOD ALL DAYS. We enjoyed it. 🤣😂😃
one of the best things about music: haven't heard of the song ever, heard the band though, searched for good songs of them, come up with a song, like it so much that you wanna hear it over and over again
All these years listening to this beautiful track only because of its awesome rythm and flow... today I finally decide to pay deep atention to the lyrics and find such a beatufiful love letter... I inmediately dedicate it to my girl on Facebook... what a beautiful song
Ricardo Ceron Hey friend is exactly the same that I thought when I read the lyrics, I liked the song because the music was awesome, but now that finally I understand the song, I don't have words to describe it, it is just a love poem made music and it is perfect to dedicate to the loved person.
This is ma mom's Jam Y'all, ugh the memories, its 2020 n I'm still happily listening n rocking to this while doing my house work, ugh dancing my weird dance! 🎸😅🤦💃👯🕺
It still says your comment was made a year ago, why do people feel the need to type the year they commented on here!!!? Thought it just brought more replies, but that's clearly not the case here
@Jay that was the exact point I was trying to make, why do people seem to feel the need to tell everyone the date a comment is being made, when the date is always logged and displayed eitherway?
Lyric: You got a smile so bright You know you could've been a candle I'm holding you so tight You know you could've been a handle The way you swept me off my feet You know you could've been a broom And baby you smell so sweet You know you could've been some perfume Well you could've been anything that you wanted to I can tell The way you do the things you do I like the way you do the things you do As pretty as you are You know you could've been a flower If good looks were minutes You know you could have been an hour The way you stole my heart You know you could have been a crook And baby you're so smart You know you could have been a school book Well you could've been anything that you wanted to I can tell The way you do the things you do I like the way you do the things you do You make my life so rich You know you could've been some money And baby you're so sweet You know you could have been some honey Well you could've been anything that you wanted to I can tell The way you do the things you do I like the way you do the things you do As pretty as you are You know you could've been a flower If good looks were minutes You know you could've been an hour The way you stole my heart You know you could've been a crook And baby you're so smart You know you could have been a school book Well you could've been anything that you wanted to I can tell The way you do the things you do I like the way you do the things you do The way you do the things you do I like the way you do the things you do The way you do the things you do I like the way you do the things you do You made my life so sweet I like the way you do the things you do You made my life so sweet I like the way you do the things you do You made my life so sweet The way you do the things you do You made my life so sweet The way you do the things you do
I've known this song for the longest time, including the original, but this is the first time I've seen the lyrics. "If good looks were minutes, you know you could have been an hour." DAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!
I think it's so AWESOME how "UB40" was able to take this song by "The Temptations" and turn it into a "Reggae" version. With a little re-adjusting and using different formats. It was a FAVORITE of mine from the 80s. It brings back AWESOME memories. I was ALWAYS a huge fan of "UB40". The group had A LOT of style back then. This is the kind of music that I grew up with and it will live in my heart FOREVER!!
I'm 19, grew up with the likes of UB40, Madness, The Specials etc amongst MANY different artists from other genres, but UB40 has given me my main inspiration for my vocals. Shame I can't find a reggae band :(
I remember when I was young cruising with my dad in his 1956 KINGSWAY DODGE blasting to UB40 💙 always brings back the memorable moments! LOVE YOU DAD my dads deaf so the bass & vibration of UB40. 🥰
This song was my addiction growing up in the 90’s. It’s still my addiction in 2021. They never tagged the song with a warning that listeners will get addicted 😭.
I agree I was so little when my dad got me hooked on UB40 and this song reminds me of him ( he’s passed now) I’m going to see them ( Ali and Astro) tomorrow I can’t wait!
