That was some quality entertainment. Well done, all involved! Great play, commentary and production. Congrats to Sander, managed the almost unimaginable, out playing the GOAT!
To Marc and the team, absolutely huge thanks for all you do for BG. This was incredible entertainment and a truly superb all round production. Great times to be a BG fan. Only one small request - PLEASE swap to white dice. The reflections mean nearly always one dice is impossible to read.
Than you for the feedback! We appreciate it. We had planned to show digital dice as a graphical overlay for this UBC production, but due to unforeseen events, we did not have time to incorporate this.
@@BackgammonGalaxy Thanks (Marc?) - once again thanks to you for all you do for BG. Yes, I think in the last tournament before this it was the same - at the beginning IIRC the players were saying shall we use black dice or white dice? I was shouting "WHITE - WHITE!" at the screen but they chose black! 😅
Thank you UBC and Galaxy team for this extremely high quality tournament. Incredible season Sander is having. The TV producers couldn’t have wished for anything better lol.
I hope that the next season the Galaxy team will realize the value of the content of the UBC final and take the decision to have a live stream with commentary of the final instead of prerecorded videos. They will be surprised of the popularity os such a stream. It will have thousands of live views as well us many views afterwards. The event of the UBC final could be organized as a side event of one major tournament (e.g. before the start or after the finish of Nordic or Gilraltar, or Monte Carlo or New York tournament).
UBC, Marc and Backgammon Galaxy team fantastic job on the analysis and commentary. Thank you for your enthusiasm and everything you do. Constructively, we really needed post game interviews after every round and especially right after the win. We really want to hear from the players at the peak of emotions. It’s hard to imagine a sports team after winning the most prestigious game and no interviews. Why weren’t you guys there in person? Can you get interviews as soon as possible. Thank you 🙏 awesome tournament
Thank you so much! We are getting player interviews as we speak! Unfortunately the video-team in Japan did not record interview footage, so that's why it's not in the production. Logistically it did not make sense for us to be in Tokyo ourselves.
For those who are curious, here are Mochy's 'Luck' scores at the end of each match. Across all the matches it roughly evened out this year: Match 1: -2.52 Match 2: -2.146 Match 3: -1.180 Match 4: -4.692 Match 5: +5.394 Match 6: +5.583 Match 7: +3.399 Match 8: +3.356 Match 9: -3.199 Match 10: -1.603 Match 11: +2.259 Match 12: -2.328 Total: +2.322
Congratulations to Sander. Kudos to Mochy for his run. This should encourage people to try the UBC. Mochy was over 3 PR seven times and over 4 three times. Sander had 3 or 4 matches with an inflated PR. Neither looks invincible or unbeatable. There are a lot of great players that could challenge in the next few years. Should be interesting.
We enjoyed watching 12 perfect matches between two excellent computers. Mochy's mistake in the last scene was incredible. I think Sander's fast playing pushes Mochy psychologically to play fast and make mistakes. Mochy is truly a super game master, but Sander showed how to change the fate of the game by sometimes going beyond the rules. Undoubtedly, Sander enjoys playing this game immensely. Thanks to the whole team for this beautiful publication. Note: Players should be strictly prohibited from wearing smart watches in such professional competitions.
Loved the Match and the entire production. Good stuff. Sander has to be considered top 5 right now. I still think Mochi is #1 but for this moment Sander earned every accolade he is getting, he played incredible. I remember reading somewhere 4 or 5 years ago that Mochi said if he had his choice matches would be 30+ games, even higher.
1 hour 19 minutes. Commentators Missed a huge mochi blunder with a 4 - 1 4-primng the 5 point or hitting and covering with a 4. Insane how that difference is 273 points. Really wish marc had seen and commentated on that :(
Hey Backgammon Galaxy, could you stop spoilering the results on instagram? Make them the second picture of a post or something, so I don't see them while scrolling.
@@BackgammonGalaxy There is no excuse for such thing! You also did it here on youtube in one of your intros!! Lets hope the guy doing so does not have a job anymore!!
Sander drank 9 beers during his win at the World Championship and it worked there. As Marc says, beer is Sander's 'magic juice'. Sander was drinking during Matches 7 and 8, and played noticeably better than he did in Matches 5 and 6 where he wasn't drinking. For Sander, drinking beer usually helps his play.
When I have no favorites, I tend to pull for the champion. Why?...it takes more to be a champion, anyone can be an underdog. Though I am not so sure Sander was the underdog. :)
@@BackgammonGalaxy There's beer in basketball, baseball, even chess perhaps --- but only AFTER the game ! Really, the alcohol factor would seem to lessen the seriousness of the competition. Losing players could always claim that their own imbibment impaired, to some extent, their championship-level judgement. Do you really think Mochy approves of the beer-drinking in true competition?? He has too much dignity and class.
24 pyramids. 30 Planets. 15 x 24. Our pips. Equals. 360. We have 12 pyramids Aligned to true North. Therfore it is a 360, to 1 chance. Coincidence. Multiply throwing 6 x. 6 in a game 36.x.1 Aligned pyramids. Remember we use degrees. 360. X 1 times x. 2 . 720. Add the others, Chance. Did you say.! Backgammon defies AI. This game has been around for over 70.000 thousand years.
You always have the option to mute the video ;-) Commentary will always be a part of our streams as our goal is to make entertaining and engaging videos that people can learn from.
My wife and I own and operate a brewery in the states. @MarcOlsen and @backgammongalaxy, get word to Sander that we will brew him the perfect table beer for high performance backgammon hahahahaha.
