Good stuff Timbo! Lovely shots of Tower 10 and the (at the time) new RCMP Explorer with all the Crown Vics! Considering the crap we've put our healthcare workers through, and continue to put them through, i think it'd be nice if there could be more displays of appreciation like this every once in a while :)

@@jaedenorigeneza3179 you Mexican firefighter’s are amazing I’m pretty sure you helped British Columbia firefighter’s to put out a big forest fire! The best of luck!❤️
Very nice tribute for the healthcare staff, they absolutely deserve the morale boost and recognition during these hard times. You also caught a very nice catch for all these emergency vehicles. I'm actually surprised to learn that the RCMP provides campus security at UBC. Is it just the hospital, or do they patrol on all UBC campuses? Every university I've been to, for example University of Toronto, have their own campus police/security with plenty of personnel, and I assume a University for something like BC would have their own campus police service.
Thank you for the comment! That’s right, RCMP is the sole police force in charge of patrolling the UBC Vancouver campus (it’s a huge area, encompassing several residential areas, commercial areas, beaches, forests etc). There is no separate university police force (no such thing exists in the province of BC, as far as I know) but they also have their own campus security department. From what I understand the UBC lands are not technically part of the city of Vancouver, so VPD does not patrol there. However, the Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services do cover it. UBC also has its own ambulance station.
UBC is located on unincorporated land that is recognized as "the ancestral unceded territory" of the Musqueam First Nations. Once upon a time, fire was provided by the university itself; at some point in the 20th century the University Endowment Lands fire brigade was disbanded and the school signed on with VFRS for fire protection. If I remember correctly, RCMP was always the law enforcement agency of choice on campus since the land is technically federal/Aboriginal territory.
@@FirePhoenixEmergencyVideos It's actually an unincorporated area. The campus land is endowed to UBC; the rest of the peninsula is administered by the University Endowment Lands, which is under the responsibility of the provincial Minister of Municipal Affairs. Because there is no municipality, the province is responsible for policing. So the RCMP does the policing as the provincial force. For big events, Richmond RCMP sometimes assists. I've even seen Burnaby RCMP helping out at Wreck Beach in the summer -- maybe an overtime program.
Yes, several RCMP detachments still have Crown Vics in active service. They are more reliable than many of the newer police cards on the roads these days lol
Golbal emerg . Don't speak for the people who had to endure the siren's. .This went on tor 4 days of this .!!! My goodness you would have thought 🤔 it was a send off for royalty..
Thanks! I already lived in Canada before COVID, this is where I’m based. I was only ‘stuck’ here in the sense that I could not travel much because of the pandemic… 😅
