This would be a GREAT thing, if Uber weren't constantly being caught shaving earnings, and tips. They need to show time, and distance rates, so EVERYTHING is transparent. This actually sounds better than Lyft's old streak bonuses, which I planned most of my driving around.
Driving cab for 5 yrs I always knew what I was making based on distance. Uber likes to play the random box of chocolates nonsense. Not doing $5 rides unless im needing to complete a quest or trip going across the street.
Sergio, this is not good. The fares have been reduced because of Lyft reducing theirs to steal the Uber customer base. Just pay a fare wage across the board instead of putting this BS into the mix
Question: With all the money Uber is paying their software engineers, dept heads, etc. over YEARS to come up with all these different promos and games regarding driver pay; could it possibly be beneficial monetarily to Uber just to pay the driver a fair (meaning profitable) rate per ride? Maybe not, idk but I had this thought. Thanks for the continued great work guys!
Can some one explain how the new Uber surge works. It’s always inconsistent. $1 surge some times pay me more than a 1$ and some times exactly a $. Have seen $5.0 surge may be $5 and $5.75 pay me $20 plus. Also, have seen that different drivers have different surge $ ( at Newark Airport) showing at the same time. I had. O surge but the guy next to me had $14 surge. Uber is gone rouge. They didn’t learn from the previous. lawsuit
The boost bonus is a joke all they do is lower the amount the trip should be and the so called boost on top brings it back to what it would be at least that's what I'm noticing in my area on long island ny.
I've had tips show up 3 weeks later. It's total bs. Maybe Uber is parking random tips in an account somewhere making 5% interest and juggling them in and out to boost their stock price
I've been Playing Uber alone for a quite while, but this week, in exasperation with the low earnings ,I switched over to Lyft, and discovered that Lyft pays you for miles, and time, unlike Uber that pays you on miles only.
10yr driver and this is only the second time that I’ve seen Uber follow Lyft’s lead! And both this year. Uber % bonus is still wack and does not incentivize me to drive for them. They are not competing with Lyft, with the % bonuses, the surge, or the ev bonus. Why drive for them! Lyft’s turbo bonus top is 40%. I caught one on a Black ride. Original Fare was $32 and some change. It went to $45 with the 40% bonus. No hoops to jump through like scrUBER!
The Massachusetts $32.50 per hour started August 15th The pay is based on time you accpet a rider to the time you drop off the rider. Time spent waiting for an offer is not paid. expected to start in sept. sometime will be money towards buy healthcare insurance and paying into the States Paid Family leave program plus up to 40 hours paid time off per year. still waiting to see the details from uber how they will roll this out. This also goes for Lyft drivers but not Uber Eats or other food delivery apps
It’s a con. Don’t do this. Ok so 5 percent on a trip worth $5 is like 20 cents extra. It’s not much at all. They are trying to con drivers and only the stupid group 1 accept every trip drivers will fall for this shit
Not sure what state you are but you are lucky. In NYC we are lucky if they unlock us and let us just drive few hours a day. That will be a bonus for us. And anyways the new Robot axis are coming on uber next year
Lyft is doing the bonus hours thing here like 5am to 6am and again at 11am to 12 noon and the problem is that during that hour they are charging the passenger that extra money so many of them are getting an Uber because they don't want to pay the extra money. Sitting for the entire bonus hour and never getting a trip is entirely possible so I log into Uber and it is busier because Lyft is price gouging. Who cares about a bonus hour if you end up sitting for the entire hour because nobody wants to pay the extra amount?
It’s crazy to me that you guys could be making 20$/hr behind the register at QT mart with full benefits but chose to beat up your car for 25/hr with no benefits
most of them arent more than 3 yrs into it, i got a 2021 car and cant do it full time another year its not worth it, no ones making more than 30/hr consistently, your interior just goes to shite, you have to constantly dodge accidents around nj part time with a ft job maybe but not ft until $35 an hr plus to be financially sustainable
@@ICTMME I agree ! I used to love running for Uber but you can only let them reduce the pay so much. At 20/hr you’re not really making money. You’re just cash advancing your car
The advantage mode is simply a way to force drivers to accept more trips. If they don't, they won't receive any trips & especially at the airport unless the market is too busy, as it's already saturated. "Over what?" is a great question. There's no extra pay involved. They will exhaust all options before they're forced to pay us anything more. It will be great to see a lot more part-time Wridz drivers with good quality & service like myself to start canceling rides & asking to go through Wridz. Why? Because we're independent contractors & it's time to fight back against the abuse of uber.
it seems this is just certain areas Have not seen this in Boston yet. Lyft offers during certain hour 10% bonus or 20% bonus in zones . I see them offered daily on Lyft there is also surge on top of that offered. Ubers select promo is behind the curver
I have a 98% acceptance rate and 3% cancel rate. This is not in Tucson yet. Here if you dont accept the small stuff you get nothing. Uber IS shaving once again.. the rate for a short ride. was $3.75 then $3.71, then 3.49 and just when you think they cant go lower, its now $3.45. The old way they did bonuses created unsafe drivers.. mainly due to the deadline... sometimes getting 50 rides done in 4 days was impossible for me. A few times being so close, I stayed out longer than I would have to get that bonus making me a tired driver which is unsafe.. I was glad when they stopped it but expected they would replace it..
This morning Lyft was paying a 60% turbo. Looking at the base fares, the 60% was based on the minimum rate of $3.97. I drive full time and have been driving Lyft mostly b/v of these incentives. I have not been offered any ride that pays less than $4 (which I decline faster than anything). So yeah, Lyft is basing the bonus off of the minimum rate (for the shorties) when they don’t pay the minimum during “normal” hours. It’s a scam!
@@NY2Vegas I quit with Lyft because they refuse to pay me for cancellation fees and some of the Qwest that they used to have. They didn’t pay me because I had to decline a lady who was cussing me out and then I did the following ride but they wouldn’t pay me the bonus if I add up all that Lyft owes me it’s about $80, and they’re never gonna pay
Another feature implemented to bog down the app more. It's already gotten to the point that I can't see the heat maps half the time.i can't tell where it's busier or that I'm in a surge area until it shows the +$$$ in the ticket offer.
That's how they keep winning. They keep giving us these bits of carrots. We have to stop doing our promotions, all bonuses, pay me straight up for each ride, what I want.
I do about 600 trips a month while driving an ev I used to get a $1 more per ride now I get $210 to complete 200 trips so the other 390 trips I do them for normal rates. Promotion is from 10th of every month till 30 days later. In this change I lost $390 dollars a month Uber always finds ways to cheat drivers.
Time will tell on this , i can tell you this the advantage / standard mode is crap. I am in Phoenix and pray that goes away and ismt successful because it is bad . I would welcone this a lot more .
What can this company ever do to motivate me operate like before the Pandemic. May be bring back the payment system of Distance and time and withhold 30% of what they charge customers
It not worth it! We use to get $15.00 to $18.00 for 3 trips. Examplea trip is $4.84, and 20% is 96 cents. Not worth it. Lyft has a decent bounus right now. This is "hot burning garbage " and Uber knows it, Bye Uber Bye.
All these gimmicks they are trying are transparent. None of these tricks will work to fix the acceptance rate. The ONLY way to fix it is to PAY drivers fairly! Brick back rate cards WITH destination info and get RID OF TRIP RADAR!
Must be nice. Here in Tampa, we get NOTHING. No bonuses, have not had quests for about a year, and no boosts for about a year. Absolutely no incentive here.
