If there is constant request ping, that means soon a huge surge coming. I don't accept every single trip, only waiting for the right one. You can work smart, avoid traffic, and drive less for more.
Hello, I'm Lyft's driver. I'll tell you. Lyft takes 70% and gives 30% to the driver. And when the car gets stuck in traffic, it charges passengers for traffic and gets all the money, but only about 0.45 cents to the driver. And when it arrives, it takes 5 minutes, which also charges passengers a lot of money and gives drivers 0.07 cents. Lyft and Uber need a thorough investigation
I work for uber driver complaints handling sessiom and can tell you driver cry alot about fares and rates of uber when i see those complaints habdled by indiam call center, also there are some loopholes i can leak which can benefits drivers in getting free money
I'm going to mention this to Sergio from the Rideshare Guy channel. Logging off and on and also pressing "last ride" is key to keep the surge going. If ALL DRIVERS WOULD DO THIS, WE ALL WOULD MAKE BETTER MONEY. Like maybe everyone logging off every 10 mns for about 2 or 4 mns in a busy or semi busy zone. Surge would double or triple. You deserve more followers, good video sir.
This sounds logical because the platform starts off with the lowest wage. But if everyone rejects it then they increase the price. It's a marketplace when there are more buyers the price goes down but when the price goes up the demand for drivers increases. But we as drivers want to buy low and sell high. In other words we want to go the lowest distance for the highest price. But Ober has a way of bundling two or three rides or two or three deliveries for one price and rejecting the last one becomes difficult when the first one is accepted because all bundled together but you would not have known that from the beginning of accepting the order not necessarily rides. Those brainiacs develop this algorithm to maximize profit for the company while we become their slaves.
@@dhayes6147 a lot of drivers don’t have any clue they just accept anything these dirty developers in slave drivers with algorithms all they need to do is not accept for couple minutes
I always logoff after accepting every ride, because I want to dictate what rides I want to accept. I learned this the hard way. Also if every driver did this there would be a lot more surges.
Its not even that bad. I do this when doing ubereats. Gas prices are high and you want to make sure the trip is worth it. They have really bad orders. A year ago ubereats was good. I would make almost 100 dollars on 1/4 tank of gas and then working on my next 100. I have made $289 in one day working like 10 hours with breaks, and I cherry pick. but nowadays those large orders with short distances rarely come up. I remember one night I was getting back to back wendys orders for $40, two deliveries in under 30 minutes. I got 4 of those orders back to back. I made over 100 dollars in like 1 hour and a half. Bring back those days
Yup, less miles on vehicle, quicker hops back and forth, more money per hour. There's people on here that actually care about acceptance rates 😆😆, nowhere on Uber/Lyft does it say you'll be deactivated because of an acceptance rate 🤣🤣🤣
I have no idea how this works, but I do usually add stops once I’m in the car. I often get “free” rides too because they don’t want to leave me without having a stop in the app, they will just decline other rides and end up turning the app off. I made my last Uber driver cry. She picked me up from the mall, drop me to the liquor store, then to the pharmacy, to the gas station, and then to my condo. I haven’t had a hug like that in so long. She was absolutely the sweetest and I’ll never forget her and I’m 100% sure she won’t forget me either. I ended up tipping her $40 in the end. The driver who took me to the mall gave me his number and told me if I ever needed anything I could just call. Generally I tip $20 in cash, but she deserved that after our experience together and just for who she is as a person. I only get $600 a month on disability, but I know y’all don’t get tipped enough. I always try my hardest to make people smile. Three rides ago my driver only spoke Spanish so I was looking up things to say to him. Sé un poco de español, so it was a great ride. I miss driving so much, but I have a shattered leg. Thankfully I absolutely adore Uber drivers. Still maintaining my 5 stars. ✨🧚🏻♀️
Sorry for the rant. I guess there is some advice on how to be a good passenger. Between the first two I mentioned…I had her nearly get in two accidents because she was on her phone the whole time trying to show me photos of her family. She also did a u-turn in the middle of a busy 50mph road. Luckily I am the type of person that says, “you go girl,” in response to these things. He broke two of the terms and conditions by promoting a competitor app and giving me his number to take me off of the app. I do have a personal shopper I stole from DoorDash. The other day I had someone with another passenger in the car. The only thing against the terms and conditions that people frequently break that annoys me is the last thing I mentioned. I’d never report anyone though. They could hold a gun to my head or start stroking and I still wouldn’t.
Notice the time of trips for 20 was roughly 30 minutes. He then got a $7.50 bonus and the pay for the next 30 min trip was still roughly 20. Uber is killing us and thinks we’re stupid and can’t do simply math
i logoff on every ride! once im cruising to the pick up area! sometimes you will miss some good rides or surge by doing this but i dont like to be distracted by checking my phone and taking my eyes away from the road!! we also a group of friends and we are in constant communication to see where the bests rides and the surge areas are!! by logging off and back on i get yo pick and choose my rides not the ones Uber wants to give me!!
cause hes a bum ass driver, i dont pickup everything either, especially long rides, but i can make 200 in 6 or 7 hours, he should learn how to have fun with the app and i start 5 or 6am
Just seeing all those offers coming in period is making me jealous. Boyyyyy summer in Florida is impossible to make money. I can’t wait for season to come back around so it’s popping off like that again.
I do this too. I live in New Orleans during Mardi Gras season the pings don't stop and they will try to get you with the constant pings and big numbers but terrible drive time. Be patient and cherry pick the good ones. Thanks for the video 👍
I live in New Orleans also and you have to cherry pick to save time and make money during Mardi Gras. Traffic was madness this year. Acceptance rate horrible now due to Mardi Gras but I make money
Don’t you hate it when the demand is so high that they flood you with all the trash Uber x rides and you can’t even go offline because requests keep coming in lol😂
@@WhoDatNation13 exactly. A good acceptance rate doesn’t ensure good money. It just makes you angrier that you took all those crap rides, just to be over 90%
I leave at 4am every morning by 2pm I’m up to 270, I work at a warehouse after, I wish I could stay out longer. I usually stay in the Logan airport area in Boston, the pay is good if u don’t mind the traffic 😂👍🏻
A lot of people don't understand the difference between slave labor and "independent contractor". We are not independent because if we reject all the orders we don't want because it does not pay, we will be off the platform. That was why the message came up after all those rejection asking "are you still online" The algorithm works by taking the amount of rejection dividing it into the number of acceptance. When the rejection rate is higher than the acceptance rate, you will be off the platform. There is no 2 ways around it. And if you call the Philippines and talk to those people who always say the same thing like a robot, there's nothing they can do about it.
I’m Uber five star Dimond drive who ever doing reputedly they’re westing there time plus there status and promotion, it will lower your acceptance rate, increase cancellations rate that is a big red flag for you, if do this every day after a while the system will luck you up with warning. Not worthy at all I don’t recommend.
Bad bad advice and no where does it say you'll be deactivated because of your acceptance rate. Man people need to stop listening to comments like these 😅
My quick math for rides is: I multiply what I’m getting paid by 2. Then I add the time for pick up and drop off. If the time is not the same or less I don’t do it. All this I do it quick before I accept or decline. With this method I average $30-$37 an hour in Chicago.
@@SLVRFOX88 with this method I make at least $300 in 10 hrs or less. Last night I made $377 in 10 hrs. I started with a full tank and when I was done I went to fill up and it cost me $30. Here in Chicago I average $1700 a week with this method.
I drive here in Chicago too. Uber tells you exactly how long a ride is going to be now, it even shows you on the map what route you’re taking, and exactly how much you will get paid. No need for calculations anymore.
@@puccan479 There is absolutely a need for the calculation. Your rate is never consistent. You shouldn’t accept offers for less than $1.00 per mile. Then before you accept those, you should be making sure your hourly rate is going to be at least $30. If you aren’t doing that, Uber is taking advantage of your impatience. Then again, you also shouldn’t wait to earn $1.50 a mile, because those will rarely come. There is a earnings sweet spot.
I been doing uber for a 1 year now I am gonna do this thank you I usually do airport runs the best money I wanna try to make 200 everyday but been making 150 daily
Good video to learn how to drive for Uber Eats, Doordash and other food delivery in South Africa , for new drivers to learn, drive and earn very good money. Thank you. Good luck with your youtube channel Brother. God bless you.👍✌️❤️💕🙏🙂
The best way to keep assholes and drunks out of your car is to look at their ratings before accepting the ride. If they have anything less then a 4.74 dont pick them up. Uber has been around almost 15 years so people have been using uber for awhile now so if their asshole or unpleasant other drivers have rated them already. The uber rating system is like Yelp for passengers
@@mysticnj then something isn’t done right. Definitely go offline between rides or stop requests or turn the Uber x off in your filters or preferences after you accept a ride. Should have nothing to do with cancelation rate
@@mysticnj A cancel is when you accept a ride, then hit the cancel option for that passenger. Not accepting a "ping" or ride has nothing to do with your cancel rate.
Good for you if it works, but I must tell you in a smaller market like Sioux Falls South Dakota you don’t get those trips back-and-forth like the Boston area. However, your suggestions in your video were very helpful to me however, if it had been me, I would have accepted some of those trips, especially the ones that paid $15-$20. But I see your point about the surge.
I would be happy with dollar/mile ratio. My area of San Diego gets maybe half of that although it looks like the time spent on those drives in Boston are a lot longer.
It’s very strange how smaller cities offer more surge and per mile more ratio money I saw him he didn’t take total 5miles ride for 25$ it’s crazy I don’t even make 25 an hour in NJ
Not all miles are created equal. At first I thought the same thing. But then I saw the how many mintues it would take him. 30 to 40 mns for a few miles ain't worth it. You have to look at both miles and minutes and do quick math. No driver should be grossing less than $30/hr preferably above $40/hr but some days isn't doable but it doesn't mean you have to accept crap offers.
I'm sure he knows but it seems he probably just didn't organize his Apps, at 8:10 you can see 3 redundant Google folders, 2 RU-vid apps on a home screen. I actually keep many apps in the drawer just in case I'm going through my phone with someone present, hey they don't need to see that I like Taco Bell (once in a while) lol.
Did he just work from 830a to 730p and only accept enough trips to earn $160? You might have saved on miles but that seems like a lot of time wasted. For 11 hours of work I wouldn’t be satisfied with anything less than $350
He clearly states at the beginning of the video that his goal is to make $150, and he states Thurs. and Sun. are typically slow. And obviously he is doing it his way to accept only what he is comfortable with until he reaches that goal no matter how much time it takes.
@@beet. I heard what he “clearly stated” douche. He earned $14.50 an hour before expenses ($0.655 per mile, and he probably drove 100 miles). After expenses he earned $8.50 an hour. And we still haven’t talked about the taxes that come out of that $8.50 My personal hours are wayyy more valuable than that. If someone offered you an $8.50 per hour job cash you probably would not take it. He’s working for far less than $8.50 an hour and he thinks he is maximizing his efforts. It’s kinda sad.
You should have drove right to that (11 dollar) surge tag that was only 1 block away, either than that nice picking! Anyway this is basically creating a surge by all the orders not getting filled, hopefully they don't punish you for that..algorithms be tricky and they don't tell us everything they know!
I agree he should have went for that $11. Surges aren’t created because you decline rides. If you turn Uber x off in preferences then there’s one less x driver on the map and that will force a surge. The declined rides will just show up as trip radars for other drivers. And trust there’s a driver who will take those trash rides, unfortunately
It makes no sense to accept an order where the distance traveled in both directions cost more than the actual pay associated with it. But rejecting it is used against the driver. It happened to me all the time. The government needs to come in and regulate this and as far as overtime pay is concerned. Anything over 44 hours in Canada is considered overtime pay. But Wilbur does not give you the hours you work it only gives you the hours you've been "online" so anything I've been doing sitting a traffic light for 44 hours. I will be contacting the ministry of labor to see about my overtime pay now that I am no longer employed with this company. It's Slave labor in plain sight Hidden by high demand ride$
This is a good one. However, now Uber just blocks some surges and sends you $5 rides when there is a whole concert coming out. They are finding ways to cook even the app they created to get away with paying poverty wages.
Ouch!! You rejected several $40/hr trips which are too good here in the LA area (CA). I go by hourly rate with my calculations when accepting. On slow days, during prime time traffic $20+ an hour is considered ok, otherwise if I’m very picky, I’d be killing a lot of time. You had me drooling with your with your surge map. I guess we LA drivers are fucked.
@@kmg7640 exactly. Boy do we have it shitty here, he had me crying with the rates 😆So no I don’t do early mornings because I just can’t do it as much as I would’ve liked to try. I have a chronic pain illness which doesn’t allow me to wake up early and I need hours after waking up to gain lucidity and shake away some of the pain and soreness. So I usually do 3pm or later and do anywhere between 5 and 8 hours straight. I’ve learned to calculate an hourly wage for a ride as it comes in and I think that has improved my earnings. I tend not to accept less than $20 unless it’s a very slow day or I’m in the middle of traffic that over $20/he is just not reasonable. If I average $25 an hour on weekdays I consider it a day. I’m thinking of trying to purposely drive east (with destination mode) to avoid most heavy traffic and open myself to possibility of longer distance trips. Not sure if it’s worth the gamble.
The reality here is that they don't have much competition... if they had competition they would be fighting for who has the best acceptance rate so that uber can give them the best orders.
This is great advice. For a lot of people who don’t know the Boston market could you give some insight into what causes you to decline a 30 min ride for 20+ dollars with low mileage but accept a lower paying one?
Most likely it's because of where it takes him and 30 minutes of dead miles to return. But the main reason is you want short trips to stylay in surge area. Bang out as many surge trips as possible
What's your acceptance rate? Because I'm doing the same thing with in one week I declined over a 1000 trip in dc area now days it's very hard to make 100 dollar in 5 hours smh
@@immortalserito774 you absolutely right dc there are very very desperate drivers I see drivers picking up a request that pay $ 7 dollars and some change for over 35 minutes drive its really crazy there are no bonuses bro I just have to find another job and I'm going to get one very soon I'm done with this bs it's Moderns day slavery bro
Here in India we get very less while driving uber and now a daus they dont even increase the fare if a pne hour long drive takes more then 1 and half our but we still get the same faew though Ola pays more then uber and increases the fare based on extra time we spend in traffic.
In New York city we don't have like these surge & we cannot do consistently reject otherwise they put us off air. I wish if we can get like Boston work. & also I wish I can reject so many time & whatever I like I can pick job. Thanks.
I live in TN, most of your $20 rides for 5 total miles even with $2 boost+ would be $7 here; unless, it’s a Uber Reservation trip, possibly $15+. Although, economy here I’m sure is cheaper than Boston so it makes a little sense why you get those offers.
There’s no hard way to learn. Lol. You rate goes lower and lower and that’s fine. No punishment from Uber and you lose minimal benefits from their pro programs. The alternative is accepting all the trash rides and feeling horrible while completing them. All to keep an acceptance rate above 90%. No reward for that
i'm new to Uber X scene. Why can you see the destination and I can't. I live on the border of NJ and PA and I don't want to go into PA. 1. I have to pay tolls, 2. I don't get offers while over the river.... knowing that I'm NOT going into PA would make my life easier
This is very smart to wait until you get good rides, i used to get $300 for 12 hours accepting almost all rides near $2 miles, and my gas was every 2 days now i do this and i get pay less but my gas last 5 days and less miles drive.$200-250 daily.
Man thats crazy cause in my city i average 160 in 5 hours easily no matter what day it is. If i am able to share the screen shot i would show you on here.
They pay better in other markets in tucson low fares are common quests and challenges are usually low last quest 70 rides for $95, no three of three, airport rides not even above $10 for 9.5 miles.
Canceling a ride after you’ve excepted, it is very different than just not accepting the ride from the get go. You have an acceptance rate, and a cancellation rate . Ideally, you want the lowest cancellation rate because you just don’t want to accept a ride and then cancel it on the customer. If anything, you just need to not accept a ride, that doesn’t make financial sense to you as a driver.
SERIOUS QUESTION AS IM NEW TO UBER. Thats a long day of work. Breaks down to about $14 an hour. Is that normal for this kind of a job? Cheers from Denver Colorado!
I don't know how you are getting upfront info when your acceptance rate is obviously super low. If my acceptance rate goes below 85% I get Zero info about where my rider destination is. Is it different depending on state?
It's surging why bypass them and $18+ rides? Some customers will even wait not to pay the surge. Surge and drop on a dime also or in a few min. 27 min ride next one $21.49- 37 min and skips that
My CherryPICKING 🍒 101 RULE - Houston, TX I need to see the following: 1. @least 50 cent per mins 2. @least $1 per mile 3. keeps me in my MoneyZONE💰 4. Not over 10 minutes to pick the pax 5. Switch it up during the rush hour. Watch the miles, but focus and charge based on the minutes it will take to complete the ride because of traffic. Lesser miles with higher pay is better. 6. Bend the rule if the pay is worth it.
Hey Stephen! Wondering why you are asking him? I know you're a pro, you guys even talk about these things on your Rideshare Garage live stream (plug), which is great btw, though Vinny's soundFX get a little annoying.
I don't understand, you declined like seven trips that paid the same and then finally accepted one that paid the same as a ride you declined like 15 minutes prior.
I do this too but you lost me when you accepted that first ride 27-28 minutes. You gotta LOCK IN big surge and then take the shortest in time & mileage rides only. When I’m in big surge, the surge $ is all I care about and the ride (the normal fare part) means little to me. The short ride is just a means to get that big dollar surge amount. That being said, I know the area and it just takes time getting around, especially in the 8 o’clock hour. Good tactic sir.
I'm using a bolt grabber software Programm by JEREMIHTECHZ to auto grab orders to my suprise the bolt grabber is very sensitive in auto grabbing high paying orders now i'm making cool cash
I am new i need to learn more about this an still don’t understand the way you do to make more money 😅 and there not that much surge in our place it’s a small city
Who would decline a $20+ order?! Not me unless it's 15+ miles away. Most of my orders in the western Mass area are all under $12. If I declined every single one I wouldn't do a single delivery.
