"We sure hope they are big tippers" because here in the US we pass the costs on to the consumer and make it their obligation to ensure the courrier earns a living wage.
History repeating. Technology outpacing regulation, labor rights being side-stepped, massive upward transfer of wealth, and legislators ignoring the fallout because of corporate financial backing of campaigns. Soon we will all be working for algorithms on apps.
Paying double for a McDonalds meal through the likes of Uber Eats and Door Dash is a good thing. In the long run, theoretically, these fast food eaters should eat 1/2 as much because they're paying double - so it should help relieve our health care system costs.
I do UberEats ONLY - meaning no people and other apps. AND - on the platform I do GROCERY deliveries at least once per day and sometimes much more. AND of course restaurants - auto parts - drug stores etc . .
Door dash would be great if it would stop the ridiculous scheduling and zoning for drivers. It’s the most insane thing I’ve ever seen with a gig app. DD pays instantly and no waiting on tips so I don’t know how well Uber will fare with that because DD already has a sorta Instacart kinda thing with Target
If customers only knew what couriers make. Like offers for $2.75 going 8+ miles. $10 going 21 miles never factoring in the trip back. They dont care about their drivers at all.
I love how they say we're not going to share how we're screwing the hourly worker. We got to keep that secret you know. Let me tell you I love instacart but I don't love it enough to merge with the company and buy it outright😂 What do I look like an idiot? 😂. A person has to ask him or herself why did they even bother doing these interviews.
