But if it wasn’t for his missed free throw they wouldn’t won the game he makes it they tie and go Overtime and chances of winning is tough two solid teams GG Tho 💯
That title has GD written all over it LOL! But what a ending to this game man, its actually baffling how UCF could've ran away with this game twice if they haven't missed both opportunities. Well, onto the next one!
If Tacko hadn't fouled out, UCF would have won on that final play. UCF outplayed Duke all game, but two plays (this and that failed alleyoop) were the difference.
Here's the NBA's interpretation on "verticality" "Maintain vertical alignment, with his body (arms, hands, torso, legs and feet) in a nearly straight line that is perpendicular to the floor. If a player leans his arms forward or “jackknifes” his legs toward the oncoming offensive player, he will be assessed a blocking foul." If college rules are similar, this play is a blocking foul. Tacko's lead leg (or right leg) was in front of his left leg instead of them being parallel. Therefore, he wasn't fully square to his defender. Also, the defender needs to be in the air when initial contact from the offensive player occurs (via jumping). Tacko didn't jump until after the contact occurred which is probably why the refs called a blocking foul here. (0:20 is a nice freeze frame here)
It looks like that Zion missed free throw maybe on purpose so that RJ or Marquise Bolden can get a rebound and score on a put back. That was a awesome Play
@The Spirit Molecule WRONG!!!! The replay view on this video from center court did not show the feet of Dawkins and Barrett. I have a great home tv, can freeze frame and then go into super slow mo. I did that, and while ball is released, Dawkins has great position, feet spread, and then suddenly he is pushed so hard from behind by Barrett (who did a fab job of hiding it) that he lunges forward and goes sprawling. PITIFUL LACK OF OFFICIATING. Shb a foul on Barrett, no basket by him, and I guess Dawkins at foul line for either a one and one or two shots. Huge ref job. Zion was not fouled in the first place. He gets the basket, and then UCF ball under own basket with 1 point lead is WHAT SHB called.
I agree if you are talking about the defensive foul called on Fall with 14 seconds left. It would have been called a charge (OR SHOULD HAVE BEEN) if Fall had been outside that stupid semi-circle. But one foot was in it. But Fall did ZERO to deserve getting a D foul. Should have been a no-call, because Fall is allowed to maintain his position on court. UCF ball with 14 seconds left, Duke down 1. And then if you notice the replay of the missed free throw from the center court camera and the off rebound by Barrett for the winning basket ..... look at the feet of Barrett and #15 for UCF. The UCF player has great position, feet spread, then suddenly BOTH feet stumble TOWARD THE BASKET AND THEN HE GOES SPRAWLING!!! Should have been a foul on Barrett for a shove!!!! BUT NOOOOO!!! Got to favor Duke. Putrid officiating gets the win for the Blew Devils. Happens a lot in close games at the end. Duke gets the calls. If uniforms were switched, the offensive foul on Barrett gets called, no basket.
Definitely not a foul, Zion jumps into him, initiating all the contact, fall played defense and got penalized for doing so.....why even play defense of the refs are gonna call that....clearly not a foul
I noticed that but didn't wanna put that in my video cuz he's the Maple Mamba and I will have no slander of RJ on my channel but yes, he should of boxed out
Onboarddatracks it wasn’t just that. To me had Tacko stayed still that would not have been a foul. Refs usually call fouls when it looks like the defender jumps into the offensive player. That call is still controversial, but it does give a reason why it was a foul because Tacko jumped.
Last I checked basketball is a team sport, so that's exactly what's supposed to happen. Nobody makes 100% of their shots, and the rest of your teammates are supposed to score too. 🤦🏾♀
Ok yes it was good game, but the only thing I have issue with the last, dude starts to drive first 2-3 steps good d but they separated some and WAm! UCF guard got fouled the fuck out of. How does the ref not call it hes right there
After rewatching Zion's drive from 0:17 to 0:20..is it possible Zion should have been called for making contact with his left arm on BJ Taylor? Look closely...when BJ falls to the ground...Zion could have (and maybe should have) been called for an offensive foul...just before he fouled out Tacko....
