It sounds like you guys got a steal-that apt would be a fortune in NY. Well, in real estate, they say the 3 most important things are location, location, location. I was most interested in the books, but I’m not Evelyn Wood.
Does the apartment mean you don't have to pay for board/meal plan? Or is that an apartment outside the university itself? Because the tuition is really expensive, so if I can shave off 17K starting third year...
Rama Narayanan yep! I moved out after my first year precisely to save some $$$ and it's super successful! My rent is slightly above average/average for the neighbourhood but it's still saving me like $1500 a quarter - not including how much I save on food! I can make another video about this but I basically live off of around $200 ish for groceries each month, which totals to around $3000 in savings per quarter compared to the university room and board! :)
@@asynchloe I remember I used to shop at Northside grocery store. I would be in there a long time not as long as the Chinatown Los Angeles grocery stores take me to shop ahead but they would tell me you're welcome to hang out as long as you want. I also was a member of the coop with the shares that my father had left.
Aye that’s definitely a valid concern.... uchicago said they’ll release a statement somewhere in June about whether fall quarter will be remote or online but as of now its really hard to tell. My guess is probably remote though, because of the uncertainty the university will likely play it safe
how were you able to live off campus for your second year, with the 6 quarter requirement to live on campus? (I’m an incoming freshman and would love to live off campus asap lol)
