Illana Raia graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in ’93. She worked as a corporate lawyer at Skadden Arps, and since 2016 she has been running Être, a mentorship platform for girls. In French, Être means to be, and Illana Raia takes girls to places, such as Google, TikTok and the stock exchange, where they meet female mentors face-to-face.
In an interview with Joyce Shen, Illana Raia talks about the importance of building confidence in girls, and encourages alumni to continue to connect the University of Chicago community.
