I believe every football fan dreams about experiencing this moment just once in their lifetime. The feeling of standing up there in a big stadium lifting the trophy and getting to listen to this legendary anthem must be so special!
As someone who lost all UEFA club competitions finals at every one I was present in the stadium AND while not as a neutral, I even agree from a losing POV.
@@atomaticom1821 Women's Euro 2017 (won that, but can't remember the medal theme. Wasn't there as a neutral anyway, both officially and de facto) Nations League 2019 (lost that, but can't remember the medal theme on that one too. Again, officially present as a Netherlands fan) Super Cup 2019 (as a neutral, but got seated with the Liverpool fans, which I preferred to win and they did, so I count that as a win) Conference League 2022 (lost that, the most painful one because it costed me 1100 euros to be there, but we resurrected big time from a shit period in our history, which included but wasn't limited to almost getting thrown out in the second qualifying round against a team from Kosovo)
I have visited 2 European club finals this year again, both times the club that I wanted to win actually lost. Omfg. I can btw confirm that this music is played when the winners get their medals, the runners-up have a different tune.
Don’t know why but this is a good track to hear even when you lose. I heard it for the first time when Roma lifted up the conference league, heard it again this year while Sevilla was lifting up the trophy and it strucked me more than one year ago. Gives glory and melanchonic vibes at the same time, inspiring pride for the things you have seen along the path and new hopes for the future.
I completely agree. I was at the losing side in Tirana and this piece of music is simply majestic, even when you see your players collecting the most unwanted medal in football: a runners-up medal.
this is the theme song to the 2014 champions league final in Lisbon. it was a good song & now they play it during the medals right before they lift the trophy
Lisbon 2014, Berlin + Warsaw 2015, Milano + Basel 2016, Cardiff + Stockholm 2017. In 2015 the runners-up would also hear this when they get the medal. Football didn't use this for the UEFA Youth League.
