News can show alleged criminals before trial, if police detain you news can show you but private non journalist media like say a mockumentary or tv show that is not standard journalism/news show like cops tv show or lock up show for instance would have to blur until found guilty by court of law but legit news or journalist organizations can show alleged criminals or anyone provided it’s in their story they are filming. The news doesn’t have to blur people as journalism is protected but a non news private video like a regular podcast, comedy documentary, etc would have to blur until found guilty. Just pointing this out that you are wrong they can show people even people who are alleged or not alleged to commit crimes, news media is allowed to film people because news is a protected and fundamental part of free speech democracy and free society. If you feel it’s irresponsible journalism that’s your right to say I don’t like this coverage but they have a right to film it, especially when it’s people allegedly in a live clash on a public campus. I'm 39, which I guess makes me one of them damned millennials that everyone was griping about up until two days ago, when gen-Z became the new generational punching-bag. My mom will be turning 60 this June, and she wouldn't buy any of this crap, either, but she tends to not trust mainstream media at all, and she's never been a fan of cops. She doesn't watch all the progressive RU-vid channels that my twin brother and I watch, but we talk, and have a huge influence on each other' perspectives. I suppose a lot of boils down to not only what kind of media one consumes, but the people you surround yourself with. A lot of older people are still watching cable news regularly, and people have a habit of socially conforming to whatever consensus the people in their lives have reached. My mom has friends, but very rarely does anyone ever bring up politics, and even if someone does, my mother is very loud, and very stubborn. That all said, I donnu. I'm extremely introverted, have an exceedingly small circle, and I have never had to chance to observe the average MSNBC of CNN addict in their natural habitat. This is also a rural area, and when an acquaintance does open their mouth and start talking about politics, they usually end up revealing themselves to be Trump supporters.
