let's not forget that since last year they won 4 trophies : two NCAAs, Finished 1st in the Big East and won the the Big East tournament. They are on a roll for a great 2024-25 season... great new recruits coming this summer , all the coaching staff coming back, great sophomore class ... and the women's team looking really good next year.

Thank You! Some of these fans from Kentucky that run podcast are just ridiculous with their nonsense. I saw a podcast where they started naming blue bloods. They had Villanova as a blue blood and Uconn not a blue blood. Then they were talking do we put Gonzaga in there. It was just getting wacky. Gonzaga hasn't won anything.

UConn has never been a program of 5-star recruits, what they do have is a culture of arduous work paired with high expectations. When a basketball program's foundation is supported by 17 titles between the men and women a player better expect to play both ends of the court or be "kissing the pine" regardless of the name on the jersey, oh, by the way, the women's jersey don't have names on them, which emphasizes the team over individuals. BLEED BLUE!

Kentucky's first 4 were in a field of 8 and 16 teams. I think it's difficult to count those championship teams against any that won during the field of 64(8).

Nice to see that a few people actually understand the history. We did it first with less competition should not be the standard. Ever.

@@danielwebster4569 Yes and no because being champions from decades ago also shows just how long Kentucky has been a winning program. Kentucky, North Carolina, and Kansas not only have the most wins all-time. They also have the Top 3 highest winning percentages of all-time. They’ve all 3 been great winning programs since the very beginning of the sport. James Naismith (a Jayhawk) died in 1939, the same year his disciple Phog Allen (a Jayhawk) created the NCAA Tournament. So then is James Naismith irrelevant too?

UCONN is also dominating in the current weak era of college basketball.
@wiltchamberlainisthegoat13
@wiltchamberlainisthegoat13 Месяц назад
@@JTH-hm8ew It also takes a bit of good fortune too. I think most of us can agree that UConn would not have won the 2024 National Championship without Cam Spencer. Spencer was HUGE for UConn. But guess what? UConn came very close to not having Cam Spencer because UConn was all set to welcome Nick Timberlake. Timberlake was supposedly all set to join UConn, but at the last minute Timberlake changed his mind and picked Kansas. Because of Timberlake’s surprise move, UConn went after Cam Spencer….and the rest is history now. Timberlake was expected to be a 41% three point shooter. Instead he laid an egg as his 3 point shooting dropped to 29%. With Timberlake, UConn would not have been a repeat champion. Fate played a big role as it often does.

UConn has won 6 Titles since in the last 25 years. They have also MISSED BY FAR THE MOST NCAA TOURNAMENTS OF ANY BLUE BLOOD in the last 25 years. It’s a very, very strange dichotomy. That HURTS UConn’s overall standing among other blue bloods. How you finish EVERY SEASON matters and COUNTS in a program’s overall historical standing. YES, EVERY SEASON COUNTS. And how far you got each and every season counts. UConn only has 7 Final Four Appearances. UNC has 21 Final Fours, UCLA 18, Kentucky 17 Duke 17, Kansas 16.

@@Whatspoppin5 I agree. I’m not hating on UConn. I’m actually in AWE of what they’ve accomplished. It’s truly amazing that a program that was without a Final Four appearance until 1999 is now tied for 3rd most NCAA Titles. It’s just nuts. Think about it. UConn has missed about one-third of all the NCAA Tournaments since 1999, and yet they’ve won the most Titles in that same period. It’s a real honest to goodness head scratcher. It’s been FEAST OR FAMINE for UConn over this 25 year rollercoaster.

@@Whatspoppin5 UCLA started winning when there were just 16 teams in I believe. So you only had to win 4 games. Since Tournament Expansion to 64 teams in 1985, these are the programs with the most NCAA National Championships: UConn 6, Duke 5, UNC 4, Kansas 3, Kentucky 3, Villanova 3.
