I get the feeling from watching this that Geno loved coaching this team and may have been his fav although he prob won't admit it till after he retires if ever. Its certainly mine. I'd love to have seen this team play against my other fav, the Tennessee 98 team.
You got Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi the greatest women’s backcourt ever and one of the greatest backcourts ever in general. Sue and Diana were winners in every sense if the word .
This was so nice. I loved every minute of watching this. Listening to them talk about their time together, i feel like watching really great friends reconnect. I love these women, i love women's basketball 🏀❤️
Oh I thank you so much for taping this program. This was so enjoyable to watch, Geno Auriemma and the 2002 team relive their struggles, their perseverance and their lives. Thank you so much. Signed Geno and UCONN F
Maria always seems to get short shrift. I wanted to hear Swin's story about her and Geno cut her off. I still remember Geno's statement about Maria: "She may be short, but she's slow". She went an entire NCAA tournament as the main point guard without committing a turnover. I always liked Maria.
I remember this team but it doesn’t seem that long ago!!! Seems like only yesterday the thing I hate about college sports 🏀 it’s over in 4yrs!!! A lot of players who were your favorites I can’t remember their names just their faces!!!
I think we can all agree 2002 Uconn starting 5 was the best all time.. If you don't agree please let me know a know a team that could beat them. I mean come on 4 out of the starting 5 went top 6 in the wnba draft and the other is the goat Diana Taurasi
@@blakespadaro2313 Yes of course, sorry I sorta phrased that weird, I meant to say in that 2002 draft class the #1,2,4 & 6 picks were in that starting 5. Diana obviously went #1 as well but she was just a sophomore in 02' although already on her way to goat status
