Amazing game! I simply love Nika, the defense, the hustle the dimes she is just so fun to watch. She kept the team alive and going until Azzi got on fire. Greatest two players of a truely great team. They look way deeper than last year and on a lot of plays they akt way smarter. Edwards not letting herself getting fouled out and still defending on that level just shows how she matured and evolved into a realy intelligent player.
The best part of waking up isn't Folgers---it's seeing that MJL243 has the game from the night before up and ready. Who's got it better than us. Thanks again MJL243.
Senechal can shoot the hell out of the ball. Elmer Fudd is a superstar. And Nika Muhl made some great assists along with good defense. Griffin had her best game in a while just off her energy. Most athletic player on the court.
A Tribe Called Judah, Azi Fudd is the most athletically gifted player on the floor. Her jumper & her dribble are proof of that. That said, Griffin looks better than she has since H.S.
Thanks MJL243! This was a great win this early In season. This season is loaded with ranked team challenges but I believe these players can handle everyone! Go Huskies!
Great win by the Huskies!! Azzi Fudd put on an absolute clinic and she is DEFINITELY ready to lead this team with Paige out. One thing im happy about is the fact that we got on the boards and out-rebounded the Longhorns. Before this game a lot was being said about whether or not we would hold up against a tough Texas team that had more depth and a lot more height and we passed that test. It makes me a bit more confident about how we can hold up against similar teams going forward. Great experience. There were two other players who I thought could have big nights. One was Aubrey and the other was Ayanna. Aubrey definitely had herself a night and her athleticism and willingness to shoot will definitely be a factor in how far UCONN can go. Ayanna on the other hand didn't do much with the few minutes that she played and she will need to get her foul trouble under control. She's a bruiser and I like that about her but some of those fouls like knocking over a player away from the ball and wrapping up another after she's already gotten the rebound aren't going to help her cause or the team. But she's just a freshman in her second college game. She'll get it together down the road. Oh and while I'm at it Muhl has definitely stepped into her role as being the primary point guard. Nine assist and three steals!!
@@abcdefgigklmnop5526 yeah I think she’s just adjusting . College bball is just alittle but faster. But once she get it…. She’s going to be so fun to watch!
@Stormy Weather first of all, you're late to this comment. Second of all, if you know sports fans then you know that they like to refer to themselves and the team they support collectively as "we". So don't come over here late to the game trying to nitpick when you clearly don't understand the context.
Had to go back and watch this game, Nika looked really good against a very good team, Edwards was solid and didn’t realize how quick and athletic Fudd plays! (wow)
Congratulations Uconn Team for the win against texas longhorn very good play by azzi fudd because she's the replacement for Idol Paige buecker she's a ACL she can play by nxtyear she's in immediately recovery and also congrats to the team for their teamwork very good coaching by sir Genu
At 54:10/1:32.34 the story line of this classic match is told in a single play. Fast, smart, agile UConn players gang guarded a very good big named Jones. Clearly, Jones can beat anyone of UConn's bigs one on one, but she was whooped when all five Huskies ganged up on her. The fact that the UConn ladies put a team defense on her caused Jones to think twice about taking the ball down to chest level and putting it on the floor. Sure, Azi Fudd scored 32 points, but have you ever seen so many steals & intercepted passes by a D1 LBBT? We've seen Paige Bueckers do it, but not the whole team. No, you haven't, plus you've probably never seen such great defense played by an entire team. Nika Muehl, alone, was credited with three steals & nine assists. That characterizes the team effort because every girl contributed with defense, unselfish passing, steals, & pass interceptions. So, there were standout performances, but they happened within a framework of great teamwork. I think that Page Bueckers, as a student-coach, is having a huge impact on this team. In fact, I think she is mentoring Nika. Maybe, Page can't play right now, but she sure can coach. Ooops, I almost forgot: nice retaliation elbow, Caroline. That b^tch deserved it. If someone slaps you in the head or chops your wrist, submarine them & make it look like an accident. If you don't you'll end up like you did last year when that b^tch concussed you. Or, you might lose two years of your career like Paige. Remember, an elbow to the kidneys, spleen, or liver works too. Be assertive like Nika. And, Dorka, when you are surrounded under the bucket, do not let the ball go below your head & stick your butt out when you go up, plus jump into the chest of the nearest defender. My role model, Dave DeBusschere did that a lot & it works. Also, all of his outside shots were from the same distance, but from different spots. Plus, he used the bottom of the rim hanger opposite him as a target. That works.
After watching this game for the fifth time I think that Azzi could have easily scored 40 points, a couple of blocked shots in that fourth quarter and it would have been 40 points. This is against the number three seeded team in the country. The defense played well. Still a tough road ahead.I will watch the fourth quarter again to see how she got to thirty so quick.
83 pts against #3 team is pretty good. TX defense near the basket was impressive. UConn defense everywhere was impressive. Fouls were too much of the game, but that's part of TX ball. TX did best when they could shut down UConn guards and passing. When that weakened UConn could pass or drive or shoot. It made a big difference. FT% wasn't great. Dorka could have shot a few 3s to spread the TX defense some. It's a shame Lou went out with foul trouble. She was playing well. Aubrey and Nika were excellent, primarily on defense->fast breaks. It was good to see Ayanna and Caroline in there some.
You will likely see a big difference in conference play, but she's played forward a lot and just shooting down low isn't her primary skill. Still, TX had excellent defense near the basket. You didn't see Aaliyah scoring a lot there either, unless it was a dribble-drive from the key.
@@markhathaway9456 I’m really just talking about ball security. She had the same problem last year to where it just seems like everyone it striping her. Her production is great. I’m just tired of seeing the ball flail out her hands all the time.
