This requires maths background in 12th grade ? I'm a commerce student in in 11th standard... Can I opt for business management economics BA ?

Hey! Would you suggest taking micro or macroeconomics first? Incoming frosh and didn’t know which one to take each quarter but I have time to switch I think if one is better than the other. I just chose micro cause that’s what Reddit told me

Hey! Difficulty will definitely depend on your professors but when I took micro and macro I thought they were around the same ballpark. I’m going to assume you’re aiming for a BMEC/Econ degree and to declare you’ll need to pass those introductory courses. GPA is also a factor that’s looked at to see if you’re eligible to declare. Since you’re going to be adjusting to college life, I would recommend picking the one that sounds more interesting for fall quarter since you’re more likely to do well in a class that teaches a subject you genuinely want to learn about. Econ 1 is centered around individual businesses while Econ 2 is more broad and focuses on national economic activity. Hope this helps and hope you have a great first quarter here at UCSC 🍌🐌!
