Fin de una mala racha y primer descenso confirmado. Partido competitivo de inicio a fin, donde los visitantes gozaron de mejor acierto y defensa que los locales quienes una vez más no reflejaron su buen partido en el marcador. El Almería, como ha sido habitual, generó más ocasiones, insistiendo a más no poder, llegada tras llegada, más sabiendo la situación en que se encontraba. La cantidad de puntos perdidos por la falta de definición es flipante, si mencionar el frágil nivel defensivo mostrado en varios partidos, sobretodo de visitante. Es así como la escuadra indálica volverá a jugar en Segunda División después de sólo dos temporadas en la élite del fútbol español.
