Palmanova is a fortified city in the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. Palmanova is a prototype of Renaissance Star Foritification of the town. It is a masterpiece of civil engineering. The town is located close to Udine and Trieste in the north of Italy. It was built by the Venetian Empire in 1593. The city walls and fortifications are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and included in the list of the United Nations.
