UE Wonderboom 2 VS Flip 5 : Sound Battle 

Finally I've been waiting

I just some saw a good number of quality/ durability related issues for the JBL flips (4/5) and considering it’s a good 2-3 K expensive than the Wonderboom 2 in India, I just ordered the wonderboom 2. I must say I am pretty impressed with the speakers sound quality and loudness also this thing is just built like a tank

where do you put all your speakers? or do you return some of the old ones

WB2 is USD80 and the Flip5 is USD170 in my country, would I be paying more than 2x for some bass?

Is that the same case if your playing heavy metal music? My jbl xtreme 3 does not like metal music at all but my ue booms sweet with it

Different beasts. Flip has more bass but I much prefer the wonderboom for it's form factor, floating ability and 360 sound.

Omg..i like this tiny Wonderboom 2..the price not expensive for me..compare to that JBL..and also..i can bring it into my bathroon..without confused where to put it on..cos i can even throw it onto my bath..and also..i use it in my small room by hanging it in the middle and let it flew in my room..without worried the side of the speaker..so this wonderboom 2 is the best..since i dont need super bass..i ever have Harman product thats the Coolest bassy speaker imo..but i could'nt put it wherever i like :)

Compare the wb2 with the xb22 and flip4. I have the original wb and it never sounded as good as the flip4 or xb21

The wonderboom 2 sounds louder than the flip 5, though the flip 5 has deeper bass. I own a wonderboom 2 and its really good and lightweight

Wonder Boom 2. I like music while gardening.

It is like allways some kind of a pitty with UE. I really like this speakers, they look good, they are good for outdoor use, and in some situations the 360° Sound brings a big advantage. BUT the sound itself is poor in comparison to nearly all other speakers of that price class. Even low price speakers like Doss or paxcess to me sound better. But also I cannot understand JBLs move to the one speaker system. Thanks for the video it is always a pleasure. Peace from Germany.

Wonder boom has better treble, open vocals. And sufficient bass, but less than JBL. JBLs strong bass has suppressed treble instruments and change voice of vocals. String instruments are better listened in wonder boom while drum songs are better in JBL. But wonder boom is sufficient all rounder.

that sound comparison style is the best! you can really hear the difference. I am stuck between JBL Go 3,clip 4 ,flip 5 or the wonderboom xD i just need it for my house so it's just a matter of how much i'm willing to pay, i think all of those are great for me!

the wonderboom 2 has a much clearer sound, but it just loses about the bass. in lower volumes, I prefer the jbl flip 5, but in 100% volume I prefer the wonderboom 2.

It’s not hard to hear that the Flip 5 sounds a bit better...mostly in the low end, but that does not mean that it’s the better portable Bluetooth speaker. The Wonderboom 2 sounds very good, considering that it’s just about half the size of the JBL, which makes it much easier to use on the go. I attach it to my belt using a carabiner when I’m doing yard work, and also hang it in the shower. Nothing else is better for these types of scenarios. It is also more durable than the Flip 5. Not only is it waterproof and dust proof, but it also floats. The JBL is not dust proof, and it does not float. The Wonderboom 2 is also extremely sturdy. It can literally survive being kicked down the street with while incurring zero damage...maybe a very light scuff at worst. Overall, the JBL is not as sturdy, and you have to take care not to damage the 2 exposed passive radiators.

Im a jbl lover but jbl did fucked up the speakers. I mean partyboost and mono instead of stereo. Jbl mono is the past not the future.

JBL sounds better but I prefer wonderboom omnidirectional if I need to buy.

The JBL Flip 5 sounds better, I have Wonderboom 1 it sound almost the same as the WB2 ( I like listening to Wonderboom when it comes to vocal, so clear). JBL Flip 5 is a mono speaker yes but it has a stereo motherboard merge into one speaker. JBL has this technology or chips that make bass sound better even in a small speaker. I got recently a JBL Partybox 100 and its one of my best bass speaker ever for now. Thanks to your review and recommendations.

Ue boom is 360 sounding then also its almost equal loud to jbl but ue boom was shooting sound away from the mic

The Flip 5 is gooooood. I did music technology at uni years ago but still haha take my review as considered and from a point of knowledge. I bought the Flip 5 and I'm very impressed. Very good speaker very good for bass heavy music, Dub, hip hop dubstep, jungle etc all sound pleasing to the ear. The Eq balance is surprisingly good, considering you cannot alter it I was worried it wouldn't be right for me, but it is. Sounds good outside which is pretty mad. Battery life seems very good so far. Lovely design looks cool af. Get the black one!

For those who didn’t notice. The wonderboom 2 is stereo.

The flip 5 is the new speaker in the market but is disappointing there's a no backward like connect plus and no speaker phone.

wonderboom bass is enough but not competitive. flip 5 is much more better at low frequency bass. they are portable little speakers so you don't need that much bass. wonderboom has more advantages for me with 360° sound, floating ability, dust proof and shape.

I think the filp 5 sounds better too.

Flip 5 looks like it can roll over downhill during outdoors. I think design of wonderboom is better and sound quality as well. Ive heard clearer sound there.

UE Wonderboom 2 = louder but harsh on high frequencies at 100% volume (normal or outdoor mode). Flip 5 = not so loud but sound is very balanced and clean at 100% volume.

Flip 5 is the worst modern Bluetooth speakers I have owned. Comparing them with one speaker is not accurate. The point of all these linking technologies is to link them.. however flip5 can not reliably link to another flip5. The hardware is great, but the software which enables the link modes is garbage. People have been complaining, however jbl has done nothing. Do not support companies who do not care about their users.
