www.unrealengi... The chain component is a c++ non-physical chain simulation, super-efficient and calculated all by math, and will be available soon in epic's Unreal Engine marketplace.
this tutorial is really difficult to follow, is there better documentation? where are the ST_chain mesh assets? how do i setup a chain from nothing? the tutorial starts at like 50% and I just want to see how to set it up from a 0 starting point.
the default chain mesh is inside the plugin content folder, in order to see it, you should enable the plugin content inside the content browser, you can have your chain mesh if you want, and to start just add an actor to map, and add chain component to that actor inside detail panel, set your chain and it's ready to work with, please let me know if you have more questions
Hey, I've just bought your plugin and trying to attach one end of the chain to one skeletal mesh and the other end to another skeletal mesh, but it only lets me select one socket per spline, how do I add another one?
I tried to use this to connect to items together to make a weapon inside of my character blueprint but i had no luck, as I'm currently trying to make a nunchaku but when I connect the chain ends to the meshes they go completely messed up
Have you found a way to make it work? I am a blender animator whos trying to make the same thing, in blender it's easy, but unreal seems to not like it...
@marcosramirez3609 I had to move on to the rest of my game as this guys stuff wasn't working, but I have a few ways it can be done, is if your character isn't moving to much you can use a constraint inside of the Blueprint and link each chain together that way and lock the rotation points on the chain. One of the best ways I've found so far is you take your chain mesh into blender and add a skeleton to it then when you bring it into unreal engine you can remove the physics and add in your own, so far this worked the best with beaded necklaces etc. I'm also working on another way with character creator at the moment. Failing all of this, it might be best to Animate it and do a few different variations of movement for the chain .
@@SaeidGholizade Hi thank you that would be a huge help, as the chains just break apart and I'm currently trying to build some nunchakus for the character to use in the game.
