I don't know, Malen, Frimpong, Maatsen, Vd Ven, Xavi, that's a lot of extremely good new talent, three of them have played European finals this year so they are already experienced and they are all in top form. And then you have all those extremely experienced gentlemen walking around from Liverpool, City, AC Milan, Inter, Munich, etc. I think you should certainly not underestimate them

Interesting how Frank Leboeuff does not mention the Netherlands convincingly beating Canada with 4 - 0 while France struggled against them ;) The last serious match between France and the Netherlands was also already surpringly close (2-1). Since that match, the dutch team has kept on improving,and adding many young talents. In contrast, France has a shown some inconsistent performances lately, which is often the case with experienced teams that have already won many prizes. France needs to be carefull not to repeat what happened to the 'invincible' reigning World and European champions Spain in the 2014 WC ;)

ESPN are disrespectful to most teams/countries that are not their favourites but surely to do an analysis/preview of a group you need to discuss all 4 teams and not just the top 2 nations in the group 😮

Koopmeiners injured is a big loss. I felt him playing would be a good connection with the speed they got now on the flanks. Reijnders is great but a different type of player. Koopmeiners really has the strenght and drive to go forward and can even drift into wide positions. Wijnaldum is a player who can do this task, but he does not have the form at all.

You know Austria and Poland is in group D too, you didn't even mention there names ones, i hope this arrogance will backfire.😏

People keep overlooking France's midfield. Its very thin, Rabiot hasn't had a good season, Tchouameni is injured, Kante isn't fully match fit. And they don't have any backup to Griezmann.

Scoring goals is going to be a problem for the Netherlands? 4 against Scotland, Canada, Iceland. Frenkie has been out for some time now. Missing Koopmeijners is much more of a problem.

And many French will agree with these reasons: Deschamps, Kolo Muani, Kounde, Upamecano, Thuram. These guys should not be on the team and Deschamps is too stubborn to admit it. Also if France wins all there games in 90, and they are very capapble of doing so, thats their key to the Euro cup. But if a team can hold them past 90, history says they'll lose. Happened in 2016, 2021, and 2022. Thats because Deschamps cannot pick a good enough bench to save his life. And thats with a country thats overloaded with talent.

The Netherlands convincingly beats Canada with 4 - 0 while France struggled to a 0 - 0, but the Netherlands is the team that can't score goals ? ;) But serioysly, I dont understand the concern about tbe goal scoring ability of the dutch team. We may not have an absolute top striker at te moment, but Depay does get close if he is completely fit. Besides Depay, we have three pure strikers in Malen, Brobbey, and Bergwijn, while Weghorst becomes a genuine goal machine in an orange jersey. More importantly however, is the enormous scoring potential of our midfield (Simons, Gakpo, Reijnders, Veerman and our defense with (VVD, Frimpong, Dumfries, de Ligt). I would almost say that the ability to score goals is a specific strength of the current Dutch team ;) (i think France also needs to be really carefull not to repeat what happened to the 'invincible' reigning World and European champions Spain in the 2014 WC ;))

France are seen as probably the favorites to win the EUROs and with the group that they have, they can have some issues since they’ve been decent in a couple of friendlies of late, but they have too much talent to not top the group and possibly go on to win this tournament. Even if they don’t win convincingly, they’ll get the job done in the end. Despite losing Frenkie De Jong to injury, the Netherlands themselves have enough in the tank to finish 2nd behind them and they should be able to get out of the group. The Netherlands are massive outsiders to win the EUROs and yes they have a favorable group, depending on their draw after that, under Ronald Koeman they have a squad set up to make it to the quarterfinals/semifinals as they have a rock solid defense their midfield looks good and while they options from an attacking perspective, who’s going to be scoring the goals for them. France are guaranteed to go through and same with the Netherlands, but what about Austria and Poland. Austria are dark horses for the EUROs and they have looked very good under Ralf Rangnick who sets this team up impressively with them pressing on the front foot and he has them playing great football. As I’ve said before, there’s a bit of unpredictability when it comes to international tournaments because some of the things that you don’t expect to happen, there are teams that can an upset and would it be shocking if Austria beats France no because even if other countries are lower ranked compared to others who are deeper and are stacked with talent in almost every position and can make a starting XI on the players they left at home, you can’t count them out at all. What if they manage to get out of their group and who knows make it to the quarterfinals or even the semifinals. This isn’t the group of death, there’s a 15% possibility of Austria surprising you all and getting out of their group.

De Jong doesn’t do enough for Holland. They need someone who dribbles through the middle and attacks.

I’ve supported France all my life and I can’t understand why they’re favourites. The centre half partnership is out of form, there’s a lack of creativity in midfield and Mbappe has had an indifferent season by his standards.

The problen with Saliba is that he thinks too much. He hasn't done well for France each time he played for the NT. Fortunately, he did well in the last game so hopefully Deschamps will pick him rather than Upa. Upa and Konate have been playing alongside for many many years (Leipzig and France youth teams), maybe this is why Deschamps keeps it this way.

Despite some of the wobbles that they’ve had in recent friendlies, I’ve said it many times, I don’t see any country other than France winning the EUROs to be honest. They’re arguably the best team going into this tournament as their starting lineup is better than any team right now. A factor that helps them going into this competition is the fact that they’ve made it to 3 finals in their last 4 major tournaments meaning that they’ve been cooking something up in international football. They struggled at the last EUROs, in between that, they’ve reached 2 consecutive World Cup finals and they actually won the World Cup in 2018 not to mention the Nations League in 2021. BTW before you say it’s a Mickey Mouse competition, it counts as a trophy. Anyways, France has a world class squad that has a mix of experience and youth and while they have an excellent manager in Didier Deschamps, if they want to win the EUROs, you have to work as a team combined with your reliance on individual brilliance because whenever you get very far in major tournaments, that’s where your superstars have to step up and deliver and this formula has worked out for them on multiple occasions. They have arguably the best footballer in the world in Kylian Mbappe and now that his future has been sorted out, he can play this tournament without dealing with any speculation and we know how good he is at his best when he plays for his country as he’s one EUROs away from a Ballon Dor, Antoine Griezmann has been such an influential player in their recent runs, they’ve always had a plethora of talent in attack and their midfield is better as well with the likes of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchuoameni combined with N’Golo Kante receiving a surprise recall to the team and the fact that William Saliba isn’t even a starter speaks volumes about the quality that this team has. They have phenomenal defenders su ch as Theo Hernandez and Jules Kounde as well. Assuming Mbappe and Griezmann stay fit, the only thing stopping France from winning the EUROs is if they beat themselves.
