No disrespect to Chandler but i had a feeling his chin is suspect. I'm not saying i predicted the fight result by any means but still. It's not because Pitbull is a FW btw. Chandler seemed lost when concussed against Brooks also. He must have those Overeem genes because he's always able to do interview afterwards. It's like their brain just shuts off for a second.

Chandler won the 1st round though. He's clearly a UFC level fighter. UFC has the most amount of elite fighters on their roster but other orgs have elite guys as well, just not as many.

Chandler just turned 35 but the guy is in killer shape, super athletic and explosive like Yoel Romero who is 44 years old and is still competing with the best and he’s been in absolute wars! Mad respect for Chandler. Despite never having fought in the UFC before, he pulled off a 10-8 round and was SOOOO close to finishing it in the first. The man's power, physique, and wrestling are just insane. Chandler turns 36 in about a week but he's clearly got some good years left in him and I have a feeling this won't be the last time he fights for the lightweight belt, no matter if it's against Oliveira or not. That all being said, congrats to the man who has waited longer than ANYONE for that belt. Oliveira's gotta be on the top of the world tonight and he earned it.

Who did Conor get an instant rematch against? Poirier? Poirier chose to fighter Conor again for the money, and Poirier isn’t even champ. He rematched Nate, but again that was a non-title money fight. Never rematched Khabib. Chandler doesn’t deserve a rematch and nobody would expect him to get one, so what are you talking about?

I been telling people that Chandler wasnt used to UFC compétition yet despite being a Bellator legend. 1 Win in the UFC and championship shot was too soon. Chandler objectively was the superior grappler today (largely because of his explosiveness and strength), and was the better striker in the first. But Olivera got his shot and exploited it because of his superior fight IQ, imo.

Oliveira and Chandler..... big fighters, big men, big respect. They are very good example of sportsmanship and respect. I loved the moment when Oliveria entered the cage and went to shake hands with Chandlers and his team, as well as the reaction of Chandler at his loss. Great people both. Huge fight
