After some deeper digging in the recent patches and the Reddit, yeah, we could say they completely broke the game at this point. You can still spam and do stuffs while you have no energy, the only downside is that you can be rocked more easily standing, but that's about it. A lot of transitioning and mechanics on the ground can be bypassed with glitches and certain exploiting input. People used to complain about how stupid submission become in UFC5, since you can just drain out your opponent when they have lower stamina than yours. So EA nerfed the shit out of it, and make ground game more easily for non-bottom game builds. Thus, now ground fighters and submission specialists are almost useless now. Tbh, just stop playing online, and you might be able to enjoy the game more. There's no actual learning you needed much here, if you check most recent UFC 5 RU-vid guides, it's basically all exploits and abusive glitches.
