Taira is one of the few given a giant opportunity to leap frog 7 or 8, to jump from the bottom of Top 15 to #5. If he could do it, you know he's the real deal. Given Pantoja has defeated so many of the Top 10, if the green 24 year-old Taira could beat the very skilled & tough veteran Alex Perez, he may not need more than one more fight/win at the Top 5 to fight for the belt. Around 25 years of age, that'd would be awesome. Unfortunately, great as Taira's ground game is, his stand-up is a bit iffy. Of the few top Japanese prospects, I had though Rinya Nakamura, 29 --- who's much more developed in the stand-up, an actual elite wrestler/Judo/Greco with the strength & timing --- was going to have a chance to become Top 5 first. But here, Taira is being given the opportunity first, from #13. Nakamura's outside of the Top 15; but again, the 135pounder is way more polished than the awkward stand-up, BJJ specialist Tatsuro Taira...
@iMMACASUAL_lesson I have learned, pretty much always cash out before the main event if it’s the last thing in your parlay. Also I hit Imavov by TKO/KO in round 4, and also a parlay of Reyes to land most strikes and win, and Imavov to land most strikes & sig strikes, win by TKO/KO, and over 1.5 rounds
@@RICO_-is2pb I usually partially cash out, unless I’m pretty confident in the last part of my bet. So I let part of it run, take part of my winnings. But yeah, sometimes I do, it just depends on the night
The UFC matchmakers would not have given Taira this match unless they were confident in his ability to beat Perez, an aging vet with some momentum. This fight is designed to move Taira up the rankings, which is exactly what the UFC wants for the Japanese market. Mokaev looked a bit flat in the fight against Perez. Nicolau is chinny AF. I think, therefor, that Perez is a bit overrated and we're buying low on Taira here. But WTFDIK?
