What a charming little movie. Wholesome family entertainment. And it had a lesson. Sometimes, you have to believe in a friend, even if you're the only one. Good lesson for us all.

What an absolute delight. They pulled it off. Kitsch with class and depth of soul. Pretty amazing actually. I loved this movie!!! I love Richard Mulligan and Barbara Barry in this, this movie was so wonderful, family orientated and such a great ending, everyone was so good and I loved Beau Bridges in this, he is also a great actor! Thanks for posting this, I never heard of this movie, I will be watching this again for sure.

What a cute movie. A bit frustrating when the town's folks thought he was insane, but loved the looks on all their faces when the saucer really landed and Arnold came walking out with his briefcase.

I agree we also need something to believe in and I love this movie and story about faith and believing and doing something for someone else and being a good friend. I will tell you I am originally from Kentucky and grew up chasing fireflies and they are real. You really don't see them that much here in Texas (at least where I live) I hope to be posting another video soon. :)

Sweet and give me a neighbor like George anytime! I guess it seems "crazy" in today's world to care about people...He was the best thing that town ever had! Loved it and Beau Bridges is a truly underestimated talent! Grandson so sweet and the waitress, too...the town acted like some scary Twilight Zone town! The music reminded me of the soundtrack to "Thirtysomething" with the guitar etc...

I met Richard Mulligan back in the late 80's at the LA airport. what a wonderfully nice man!! I even asked him if he and Billy Crystal would make a sequel to the tv show SOAP. He declined to speculate on that .

I had turned this movie off 3 times because I couldn’t figure out what it had to do with Christmas. Then I realized they had created a parable for spirituality. I was so surprised. It’s sad that the most unbelievable part of the movie is that Arnold wasn’t shot and killed, which would be the almost certain to happen in reality.

That is so cool. Thanks for sharing that. I have also done some background work In LA in a movie as well as several TV Shows many years ago before I went to college and studied Theatre. I know that every set is different but most of my experiences were great. I know there were long hours and lots of waiting in between takes just from my experience.
