Phoenix City Council did not launch an investigation, Frances Barwood did and they mocked her ruthlessly for it. I was there in Phoenix in 97, I lived there, I saw it myself, it's true.

I saw this! My husband and I were on our way home from choir practice and it went over the 101 freeway heading south East. It was massive, and terrifying to see.

When you say it was totally silent (as many I've seen have been), why do you play some very loud sound every time you show your mock-up of it? Wouldn't silence be more appropriate?

I was stationed at Luke AFB at the time. Me and my kids stood out in the backyard watching this fly around.

I was in Phoenix recently and people are still talking about this incident.

A truck driver relayed a story about this incident. He stated that the two fighter planes that were scrambled kicked their afterburners on and when they got near the craft it just shot straight up at an incredible speed and was gone. The fighter planes flew right through where it was.

Happened to me many years ago late at night leaving Oulton Broad when getting into my car to travel home.The comment “deafening silence”is very apt as this is exactly what the huge triangle shaped craft omitted if that makes sense as it very slowly moved along Gorleston Road just above the roof tops before going out of site over the slight incline at the top of the road.What was more strange was the fact everything fell silent with absolutely no traffic either way during this period of approx 5 to 10 minutes.The UFO was approx the size of a football pitch and was lit up underneath with red blue and yellow lights.Didnt report it as who would believe me but I know I saw it and that’s all that matters to me.

I saw a huge black triangle in Australia in 1985. It glided very slowly overhead at about the speed of a hot-air balloon. About 300 feet up in the sky and around the width of a football field. There were three of us and it was late in the afternoon, turning dark. This triangle made no noise whatsoever and had no lights - although at times you could see the stars through it. On the underside, we could make out what looked like joins between hexagonal plates. After thirty second it faded out the same way it had just appeared. I not not been the same since.... This occurred over a fully populated area in Brisbane.

Since a young adult, I’ve been intrigued by the whole UFO and extraterrestrial topic. Since then, I’ve constantly looked up at the night sky in the hopes of seeing a UFO but have yet to do so. Perhaps one day before I’m gone.

Glad to see this aspect of the phenomenon finally being talked about. When I had my experience in 1992 there was definitely something about the whole event that seemed personal. My experience with a black silent triangle was preceded by a voice in my head that simply said "watch the skies". I too had the thing hover right over my head (for what seemed like a full minute) silently and I too, had the impression it was trying to communicate with me, only I never heard any voices after the initial "watch the skies". It was as if it wanted me to get a real good look...and that the event itself, was all that needed be said. With most of the people I've related this story to over the years in casual conversations. I always leave this part out. I'm extremely sensitive to social cues such as eyerolling, topic changing and snide remarks which gradually led me to just leaving the telepathy part out entirely. Good to get positive confirmation after all these years, it's tough living in a world where you feel like you can't really talk to anybody about this, let alone hope others would believe you. I honestly consider these people my sworn spiritual enemies. There's something tragically wrong with them. They make my skin crawl.

This is actually creeping me out a little bit. It sounds like something I experienced around the same time in California. When I went to look at the actual pictures people took of the "Phoenix Lights", I was amazed at the similarity between them and what I saw. The lights were in about the same formation and the body of the ship had some sort of cloaked effect. Every once in awhile, I'll look on the internet trying to find someone talking about a like experience but haven't discovered anything until now. It was 2:30 in the morning when I saw it. It was like I 'came to' sitting up and looking at it through my window. I got a 'feeling' that everything was alright and that I should lay down and to to sleep. AND. I. DID. Who does that??? Weird. I've only told a few people. Most say I was probably dreaming. I wasn't dreaming.

Friend of mine was 12 years old in her mother's car on a highway just outside of Pheonix. She said this craft comes over the highway and hovers. It's only about 2 stories from the ground when it stopped over the highway. Her car was about 3,4, cars away from this thing. Traffic came to a halt,people got our of their cars. She said she rolled her window down,and immediately feels the heat coming from this thing ,was intense. Said it was at least 2 stories thick,way longer ,than say,a football feild,just immense in size. Then it moved off slowly....then took off at tremendous speed... I've never heard of this particular part of the sighting,but I believe it was the end of the event she experienced.

True story, I had something very similar happen in 2008, I was inside it was late evening and I got a telepathic communication to go outside, which I did with my neighbor, and within a minute or 2 a similar craft as in this video, consisting of lights that looks separate but as it flew over us revealed to be a huge V shape UFO, flew directly over our heads at low altitude. It was mind-altering and if my neighbor didn't witness it as well I would have questioned my sanity. I had a much more intense encounter a few months later. the thing I find distracting in this video is the sound effect they play when the ufo is visible, the one we saw was totally silent, it was surreal to see something so large, floating, flying silently

While driving on Van Buren in Goodyear, AZ, we saw the same ship rising up from the Estrella mountains in 2004. Very quiet but bright orange glow windows on the ship.

Saw three lights pass over me in a triangle formation several hundred feet across maybe a thousand feet up fly over me and my friends just north of Seattle. It was night but you could tell the thing was massive but totally silent. The way it moved was just not natural just unbelievable.

i saw 2 of these back in 1976 in Enfield Connecticut while working on a holstein farm.I worked nights tending to the cows ready to give birth..7 nights a week. I saw many ufo very close and also far away.I would see mother ships release these smaller crafts.The smaller crafts would scout around.A couple times we were missing cows which we eventually found dead in the grazing field..Perfectly round hole in the neck .It was just weird..Very spooky to me.

So many ancient unconnected cultures had abduction stories from gods, fairies, goblins an other names.. including missing time an being taken to weird places.. Many cultures believe that things came from the sky an ruled over them as gods.. gods taught them math an writing.. ancient cultures from asia, europe to america all built pyramids, in india the vimana or shikhara is meant as a depiction of the vehicles a god rode around in, a more complex pyramid type structure.. By far one of the best UFO sightings story. 1997 was not that long ago so I am surprised there wasn't much more good quality photographic or video evidence of this amazing event.

I've seen them before. Several times. It's crazy and scary all at the same time.

I had letters to the editor from the Phoenix newspapers. The eye witness accounts were riveting. My mother and sister were driving over I 88 in Illinois August 2004 and it was 2pm in the afternoon a giant triangular craft passed slowly over them. They could have thrown a rock at it. It was silent. My sister nearly drove off the bridge. The craft was two football fields big had a big red light in the center and white lights on corners. This sighting happened with in a mile of my mother's house and Fermilab . My mother got a good look and said it looked man made.

I had an interesting experience one day while playing basketball outside. I noticed a flying object that was peculiar to me and flying very high in the sky. I watched it for a minute and for some reason in my mind I asked it "what are you" and instantly it changed directions and started to come towards me which was approximately a 90 degree turn. I felt like it did this because I had contacted it... I immediately turned away from it and tried to blank my mind to it and eventually it went back to it's original direction. It scared me a little and for some reason turning my attention away from it was my instant thought process to hope it would lose interest. Never saw another like it.

I still remember this event clearly like it said back in 1997 as I was watching the coverage of it for it's entirety, from the beginning when one light appeared to the end when a whole string lights in V-formation was visible, on our local news (in San Jose, CA). It lasted for about 30min, I remember. It emitted no sound whatsoever. Just so silently hovering. I was so in awe, curious and wondered what it was. If it was a UFO, I'm glad I had a chance to witness it live (even though on TV).

I was only 1 year old when this craft passed overhead and my family has lived here our whole life. There are accounts that many different delta shaped crafts flew over Phoenix that night. The most notable one being the boomerang shaped one. I truly wish I was old enough and present on a hillside to see a mile wide craft passing just 1000 feet over head. Would've been a life changing moment. These things are incredible.

I have, my girlfriend, the rest of my family have seen ships in varying forms throughout our lives. I'm here to tell you that everyone has things going on around them that they are unaware of. The reason you don't know is your not empathically aware enough to realize it or have developed any clairvoyance. However, many of the things I've seen you didn't need special gifts or abilities but you just need to be aware and really pay attention and most people are looking at their feet versus looking into the skies.

I can say from experience, when you see a ufo(s) you are absolutely glued to it visually. I saw 13 independent, round objects flashing and moving in fluid motion without sound, in the middle of the day. Their movements and configurations were almost magnetic, swooping circular moves, and then coming together I n a "V" pattern, etc. They passed over me at low altitude while I was at a highway rest stop in Oklahoma on I-44 in December of 2001. There was a Hispanic family at a picnic table about 50 feet away, and we were yelling back and forth excitedly in English/Spanish. I couldn't look away from them until they had floated far out of sight. Your mind is completely opened after that kind of experience

I've read just about everything about this event. Never once did I read about any telepathic communication with the ufo.

I found this video because I'm looking for others who's UFO encounters included being spoken to telepathically like me. Seriously speaking I can't be the only one. Mine was a complete conversation so of course I was disappointed that's all they said was one sentence. The UFO was 15ft away from us and announced that they had been watching us for quite a long time. We played baseball in this small private field across the street in Hope Valley Rhode Island in 1971 on route 138. They built houses on the land so it's gone now. They asked me what we were playing and doing and I told them etc etc. There's more to the story but I'm not comfortable telling the whole thing because it's just too crazy I wasnt able to move and was transfixed just like the guys here in the video. I totally get it. But our younger sisters ran and hid in the barn.. When they left they told me not to tell your parents and shot up into the sky so fast and silent as well. I was 11 or 12 I was so petrified and in a state of shock and didn't tell them them and didn't speak about it for 25 years. Except to the others who saw it. Some twelve years ago, I saw exactly the same shape, apparently translucid slowly moving in the night sky, almost directly over me. Because I am a believer, I thought I imagined it, and never told about it, untill now.

I have seen huge craft with my 16" telescope. Only once. but I did a double take. I have witnessed other encounters. Everyone is so busy looking at their phones they don't even notice what is in the sky. If we could convince everyone in North America to go outside and just look up ONE entire evening, I think people would collectively see things. Some of them credible and some not.

I once saw a UFO when I was seven years old in about 2011. I remember just waking up in the middle of the night that summer I think and seeing this circle of lights hovering over my street and moving slowly along. And now this is why I'm paranoid as hell due to my anxiety and why I avoid being outside at night.

I used to have CRAZY ass dreams of Hale-Bopp when it was passing by as a child. Like insane crazy vivid dreams. I would see it everywhere, even if I was just having a regular dream of playing or flying. It was always there right in my sight. They stopped literally the day the comet left.
