Weezy is being immensely hypocritical by saying we shouldn't encourage a boycott too much because "false hope will damage community morale" when he's arguably done the most to contribute to that. He can say "it was just a 1% chance!" all he likes, but he presented everything to the contrary, suggesting that this would be TF2s Nostalrius. He seems to just be upset that his chickens have rightfully come home to roost, and now he's having to field ideas that he didn't want to before because his hasn't worked out.

Uh, what? I literally said in my original video that the chances of the petition working were 1%, equating it to unboxing an unusual. That's not false hope, that's setting expectations accordingly. Conversely, much of the talk surrounding a boycott is using VERY overly-optimistic language, giving the impression that the chances of success are much higher than they realistically are. I've qualified my statements carefully, others have not, that's my main concern here.

You saying the chances are less than 1% is just a disclaimer trying to cover your own ass like when commentary videos have a 1 second slide saying "don't harass the people this video is about". The tone of your videos has not been "this is probably not going to work but we should give it a shot anyway" it was "guys this is our shot to make a difference, don't listen to the naysayers we can do this!" The language around the boycott hasn't been any more inspiring of false hope than anything you've said about fixTF2 so far. But sure, keep pretending the only thing you've ever said that there was only a 1% chance despite hours of streams and videos to the contrary.

Trying to inspire a community to rally around a 1% chance of success is not the same as claiming the odds are higher than proclaimed, which as I've stated multiple times, are incredibly low. If I'm ever in a discussion with other content creators, I'm not arguing the chances are higher than 1%, I'm arguing they're higher than 0. If one can't make a case for the former, any plan we set in motion is quite literally pointless. I've provided multiple examples of couching my language to keep peoples expectations in check, if you could provide a specific example of me saying our odds are good, or even implying such, that'd be great! If so, I'm happy to disavow it because that's never my intention. You say there are hours of videos/streams to the contrary, if that's the case, you should have zero issue finding just one statement. Please, just one specific example, not some vague shit like "vibes", thanks.

This is how I see it: The official servers being shut down is not the worse outcome for the players because we have the community servers and Valve can't do what Epic did to Unreal Tournament(I think), and even if they did, the players would find a way to get back in. The actual worse outcome is for Valve to actually just ignore the payer's pleas and leave the game as is. Though, that's just going to make it so their new game gets destroyed as collateral. I don't want it to happen, but people are going to make sure to remind them of TF2 and CS2. As we've seen with the leaks, Valve is opening themselves to yet another DOA, now helped by their very visible neglect for prior games.

Or worse yet, if Valve shuts down TF2 for good, the item servers should follow suit, which won't make the game necessarily unplayable since we have community plugins to deal with that, but lots of people invested so much money into this game and all of the sudden their $$$ digits items just vanish for good, that won't be an easy pill to swallow for some

Hey this is my first video I’ve seen from you all, and my man why are you playing music over the guests at 2:13:50 ? That made it really difficult to understand and follow the conversation, even if like it was a joke or something. On top of being disrespectful. I read chat and it was apparently because they had that convo before, which I didn’t know, first time viewing. If you didn’t want them to just regurgitate what they’re saying, moderate the discussion… Just kind of made it hard to watch.

The podcast is good, but please dont add stock music to it. It distracts from what their saying, and since I've heard this music so much, it's kinda annoying. At least add music that isn't horribly overplayed. Really it's better with no music at all.

OK, so I paused around 2:30:00 in the middle of Weezy's rant, if anyone wants to know what I'm responding to. Anyway, I do NOT agree with him on this point. Not supporting a company you're boycotting for a specific IP from that company is fine, but if you want to ONLY cut support for that specific IP, then buying from other aspects of that company is fine because you're trying to tell them "I like what you're doing here, but this other thing is awful, and so I won't support it at all". For example, if I wanted to boycott Magic: the Gathering (a card game where third party sellers sell individual cards sometimes), I would stop buying boosters or secret lairs or special collector sets. I would ALSO stop buying single cards, because me buying those cards is encouraging the people who have them to buy more boosters to open more cards that they can sell. That being said, I would STILL buy products for Dungeons and Dragons (Wizards of the Coast makes both games), because my boycott is specifically against MTG, and not WotC as a whole. What I will say, though, is that if you ARE trying to boycott the whole company, then that changes things.

I think Valve can either update their anticheat, perform overhauls on the games systems to properly update them, allowing greater ease of finding community servers, balance weapons, add new reasonable weapons, or eat shit. No hats, taunts, maps or gamemodes will mean anything to me.

Save your arguments for the good faith discussions. Bad faith actors don't care about TF2, they enjoy a bonfire regardless of the wood being used for it. I'm sure some are bot hosters, but you can't tell that from a glance that often so treat it any bad actor like any other troll and do not feed.
