Us Ga fans remembers the Richt years, one or two games a year Ga wasn’t focused or prepared, Kirby pays attention to every single detail possible, Is awesome to watch Kirby operate. Ga fans savor this Era
Amen! We were always one of the most consistent teams over the last 20+ years but not sure if any of ours fans legit expected to win the national championship with Richt… CKS has taken us to a whole new level of greatness
We lived through the worry of not getting off of the bus every game during the Richt years. No more wearing the same hat each week, changing shirts at halftime, or any other random superstitions that our fan base used to turn to during those days. We will not be the hunted! We hunt! Go Dawgs!
@@Mox3712yep. Prob top 20 already, but I was mainly referring to top 10, if not top 5 status lol. Any real Dawg fan appreciates the greatness he has helped the program achieve currently. In the Richt era a NY6 bowl win was like winning the natty lol
@@Jane-Doe-1 yeah with the back to back championships with a walk-on qb, it’s going to be remembered. Kirby is for sure going to be one of the best to ever coach the game. Saban was blessed to have him on his staff when he did. Because we can’t forget his achievements as a coordinator with Bama. I’m grateful to have him after the years with CMR. Georgia has been good for a long time, now they’re great.
How much are they paying them through NIL, along with the 7 other players, plus (I'm assuming 30-40 other players)? Whatever it is, I'm guessing it's a lot more than we could pay.
@@josephgibson5001NIL isn't JUST determined by program success. Look at Texas A&M. I'm sure Clemson could find some big donors. I know some of these portal guys aren't getting crazy amounts tho, since one came from Vandy of all places😂
@josephgibson5001 To answer your question, here's a perfect example. KJ Bolden said he was offered a lot more money at FSU, but he ended up choosing to go play for GA because he knows that he'll get the best development there. GA put a 3-star into the NFL via the first round for 3 consecutive years. And they missed the 4th consecutive year by a couple of picks, in Ladd McConkey.
What Georgia fans don’t take for granted is the peace of mind knowing that there’s next to no scenario in which Smart leaves on his own terms. Not just having the consistency, but not having to worry about losing it for a very long time is something I used to envy about bama.
@@tangofett4065yea let’s not compare Humphreys to Ladd out of respect for the two time national champ dgd. Londons not even the same type of receiver as Ladd
London is going to be a star! Ladd is already established as one of the best WR's to play at Georgia! Don't compare the two! Enjoy the fact that we have a couple of years to watch London before he goes off to the NFL.
It’s so crazy to hear people say “I hope Georgia fans appreciate…” like we don’t know life before the 2017 season. Lol. Yall think we delusional Alabama fans or something. We fully understand disappointment after disappointment after disappointment. We are enjoying these years to the fullest. It doesn’t last always
@@josha_ EXACTLY! Don't let the fans who are young and don't understand the history and just want to talk shit confuse you..... The majority of this fan base is very realistic and appreciates every single down a football that we're playing right now, and also respects the competition.
Clemson hired former players as position coaches for years instead of the best of best. You can get away with maybe one or two former players but the entire offensive side of the ball was former Clemson guys. They probably didn’t have the talent to beat UGA, but they had better talent than what we saw Saturday. Coaching matters.
Yeah, guys called Jeff Scott & Tony Elliott and they won nattys. Get off this tired NPC programming. The QB is ass. WRs can't catch. Stop trying to fire people. It's sickening behavior.

My daughter lives on campus at UGA … we have been so impressed by the University ! To be so big it still takes care of you individually ..safety upgrades and just a beautiful campus ! The football program is just so elite ! Clemson is probably not bad they just played the best program in the country !❤🐶🐾 Go Dawgs !
Someone brought up a good point. The softness of the ACC is enabling Dabo and Clemson to stick with morals and traditions. 9-10 wins a years is a metric a lot of programs would accept but as with Georgia in the final years of the Richt era. Winning 9-10 games and year but never winning meaningful games wasn’t good enough anymore. Clemson has entered that era and teams like Florida st and possibly Miami and heck, maybe Georgia Tech are taking advantage of the system and leaving Clemson in the dark. It’s a shame because I believe Dabo is a good coach and if he wanted to, Clemson could recruit just about any transfer they wanted.
Clemson a man based defensive team played zone the entire game...aka they didn't think their DB's could stay with UGA. UGA came out the 2nd half and torched them with adjustments. Bobo called a hell of a game. This team is scary.
@@Slangtalker07Brooks knows the game. These commentators just talk without any real understanding of the context of the Xs and Os. Not that Brooks doesn’t do commentary on his live show, but you get my drift.
There are dozens of defensive plays for Clemson with 1 high and 2 high man under. Brooks is right that Clemson mixed up their M.O. But he oversimplified the extent that they lived in zone.
Brother we played a split of 60-40 zone to man. We played plenty of man and locked up then receivers for almost 3 quarters. Our offense didn’t help. We got tired. It happens.
@@clemsonaddict24 You were cheating at the line of scrimmage to stuff the run. The second we focused on play action and RPO, you were toast. Check out the UGA highlight reels and see the truth.
Any Georgia fans concerned at halftime haven’t been paying attention. Georgia has always played big in the second half. Blessed to be a Georgia fan. Makes all those tough days worth it now. The Hail Mary vs Tennessee, the goal line loss to Bama in the SECCG the the tua toss, the blackout loss. Kirby is making up for lost time now. Go Dawgs!
My wife is an alum. Sometimes she has to remind me we are a second half team . I don’t know why because Dawgs have proved that so well under Kirby it’s just crazy .
I must honestly say even as a die-hard Georgia fan I was surprised. Especially based on the first half, I thought we were in for a slugfest. But I've got to tell you, you guys have a hell of a defense. That defensive line is a massive problem 😂😂
@@jtbrown51 Elite isn't in your program. Cheating to get to where you were is. Can't explain beating the best coach in college football history with a NO NAME COACH. CHEATING at its best. How this program has no been investigated...o' yea...media darlings always ranked pre-season. Must be paying for that. No logical reason you get a top 25 after losing 4 games to worthless teams....Prove me wrong!!!!!!!!!!
Clemson’s problem is not talent and hence the portal. Think it through, it is scheme, execution, and all that is coaching, especially on the offense side.
As a lifelong Clemson fan, I implore Georgia fans to savor this….one day it won’t be this easy and you’ll realize you just watched the best football of your life. It will NEVER get better than this. It can only get worse.
There is some wisdom there no doubt . Hopefully for us Kirby passes Saban before he hangs it up . Saban had 6 in 17 at Bama . He has done what Dabo refuses to do which is the NIL . He is only in his 40’s . He is not afraid to adapt. I think the NIL is what ran Saban out and once he couldn’t padlock so much of the talent he did the wise thing and started enjoying life. I will say I will be pulling for Clemson except for App State (I am an alum) . If you are ok with starting 0-2 then winning the rest of regular season we are on same page .
I like Dabo. And I respect that he does things his way. I don’t agree with the masses who think everyone should do what everyone else does. I mean hey , how many teams has Georgia beaten the last few seasons that DO use the portal ? The answer is several. You’re the head coach Dabo , run it how you see fit.
Easy for you delusional about fans say..what about the fans who is paying good money to see Clemson..it's about winning national championship or a least competing for one...he will win 10 games this year in the weak acc an that's it..
@@LonnieYoung-m3d If you think college football is ALL about winning National Championships you are the one who is delusional. Things will change a little possibility now with the longer playoff but you only have a few teams that have a real chance at a national championship on any given year. It’s certainly not something the large majority of teams get to do. So no it’s about being the best you can be and winning as much as you can but if each team lives or dies on the Natty , every team but one does every year lol. In this era of SEC dominated National Champions, you would be delusional to think an acc team should be winning it. Once in a while sure (Dabo has 2) but every year no way. Not even close.
Pate’s comment that Georgia is always prepared is powerful. Saban always preached to become process-oriented and not result-oriented, which is why they were a tough team to beat. Georgia has taken that mentality and replicated that. I don’t know if they will win every regular season game, but I do know that I love watching this team compete and fight every game and situation. This is what will make them the next dynasty: not their results or perfect season, but their ability to adjust, stay disciplined, and work hard in every snap. Go Dawgs!!
What the Clemson people aren't understanding is with Dabo's stubborn stance on the transfer portal it will affect him as far as recruiting the dudes burying the program
Im a Bama fan and i would run through a wall for saban but i cant lie this season feels so fun now that the big bad wolf is gone 😂😂😂😂😂 him leaving plus the 12 team playoff makes it feel like everyone has a shot even with 1 or 2 losses
I am so happy to see us become a strictly 2nd half team!!! During the Richt years we always came out with the game plan it would work and we would change everything and lose majority of the game in the 2nd half. It's great to see Kirby who comes out just makes 1st half dedicated to seeing what the opponent has and then the 2nd half we unleash the Dawgs and take off!!! It's great to see us have a coach that translates wins to the talent and the way I know we could of performed for the last 15 or so years!! Go Dawgs!!! Let's get us one more Natty, but even if not I am proud of them for what they have a accomplished. They have made it exciting to know we have a chance to be there year in and year out!! Glad football is back and alqays love the channel JP🤙🤙
Great breakdown. I would like to see you do a video on the following: (This critique is not aimed at you because you don't do this.) Why does National Media consistently take a ho-hum attitude toward Georgia even when they are the #1 team in the nation? Why does national media consistently act as if Kirby Smart never had an original thought in his life. EVERYTHING the man does the national media says, "Oh, he learned that from Saban." Guess what? Kirby has been gone from Bama for a decade. He has his own philosophy and is his own man/coach. He is the best motivator in college football, he consistently assembles the best staff in the nation even though multiple of his assistants are now head coaches or left to be head coaches. Yes, he is a great recruiter but he is also an outstanding developer of men and talent. Look how many brand new players scored yesterday. He was tactical on who he took from the portal and then he coached them into fitting in. Meanwhile, all we get from ESPN talking heads is "Oh well, big deal dominated a ranked team. We expected them to be good, Kirby just has 5 stars walk in his door with no effort from him, then he just regurgitates whatever Saban taught him because Kirby only knows what Saban told him he could know, now on to coverage of other, lower ranked teams."
Dabo doesn’t have to change as long as he stays in the ACC, they can pencil in 9 wins a year in the weak ACC. He would have to change if he wants to move to the SEC or Big 10.
Did you watch the U destroy UF in the Swamp? It ain't about ACC or SEC. UGA would do the same thing against any other team in the SEC (except Bama of course).
I hate to break it to you but Clemson's offense has been lost in the woods for several years now due to QB and WR coaching. You will find out more when your defense plays an offense with a pulse.
@@vistatiger7493it’s gotta be play calling. Yall had glimpses of good stuff but then you’d follow it up with a qb draw for a loss. Some of the plays I couldn’t fathom.
@@g.holland4862 what good does that do them now? We all know Clemson didn't play their best and if they did play their absolute best possible game - they still would have lost to a team that didn't play their best. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
I'm a GA fan, but Dabo is the only reason why Clemson is even relevant. Otherwise, they'd have been a 6-6 team at best, 9 out of 10 years. And the other 1 year would be 7-5.
Die hard Michigan football fan, 30 years old. Also a die hard sports fan in general and specifically college football.. this run by Georgia is perhaps better than any 3 yr run Bama has had
And the Dawgs absolutely beat the shit out of us in the Orange Bowl. Always respected the dogs, even before my Lions got Matthew Stafford. Just damn good football man and dope history dope program tradition
The only thing that we know to be 100% certain in this game we all love is that no team (Bama with Saban excluded) stays on top forever. It's Georgia's time right now, but in a few years it will be someone else, so on and so forth. Newtons law of gravity applies to all things, including college football, what goes up, must come down. Enjoy it while it last Georgia, before you know it you will be has beens.. it can't be avoided
That's really what happened to Clemson's defense honestly. They were on the field far too long. And Kirby smart loves to see that happen. He just uses those massive hogs on the old line and starts leaning down on them.
1:40 - 2:06 You just described Georgia football between 1981-2021. We know what it's like to be good...but inconsistent. It made us go 40+ years between titles, which our rivals mentioned 5,843,838 times just in 2008 alone. "40 years" just doesn't hit the same now, does it?
The problem with Clemson is that Dabo refuses to modernize, now I get it that you want college football to stick to what it was and I respect that, but Nick Saban even modernized his teams.
To beat Kirby u gonna need whistle help (see Saban for multiple examples) and/OR ELITE ELITE QB play for that game (Trask, Burrow, Tua, Baker came close)
Our defense was near perfect. The way Kirby had these guys playing early is hopefully a precursor to the entire season. Can’t wait to see Travis as well.
Easy answer. Dabo either needs to adapt this year, or he needs to be fired. Simple as that. He’s a good coach, so if he adapts Clemson will be fine. If he continues doing what he’s doing now, Clemson better enjoy those 2 titles because they won’t see another for 50 years.
Real Dawg fans weren’t doubting the 6-0 halftime lead… we know Kirby is THE GREATEST coach in the game currently at making halftime adjustments. Zero doubt he will end up as one of the greatest CFB coaches ever 🐶
All I heard this summer was how Clemson and FSU were too good to be playing in the ACC. They might want to rethink the whole “ let’s get out of the ACC” thing. The grass is always greener on the other side.
After the last three years, I don't know why anyone is surprised that Clemson's offense is mediocre and doesn't have the wideouts or QB you need to push Georgia's defense. I thought their front four was great, and their defense overall is very good. But you can't challenge a team as good as Georgia if you can't score. Eventually, Georgia will figure out how to attack what you're doing defensively, and your defense will wear down. Depending how much of Miami-Florida was Miami being good and how much was Florida being bad, I still expect Clemson to win the ACC. At the least, they'll make the conference title game.
Im a Georgia fan but think of how many portal players would love to go to Clemson…Dabo could turn this thing around pretty quickly if he would change his mind…if not then he needs to retire and quit holding the fan base hostage.
It’s just a game! Great respect for both teams! All these young men competing is awesome to see! It doesn’t matter if you win or lose! They are competing and are fine young men who can make a difference in life and their communities!
Oh, Sir, it’s so much more than just a game. More than just fun. To most of us it’s the best sport, best competition in the world. It stirs all of our competitive nature’s, rouses our loyalty, and reaches deep into our souls for a few weeks every year. It stimulates conversations, builds enduring friendships and teaches humility. It strokes egos, deflates them and then builds them back. It an emotional rollercoaster ride we thrive on. So, yeah, more than just a sport.
Clemson had a good team and a generational QB in Lawrence and a very good QB in Watson (both from GA by the way). At one time Lawrence was a UGA lean and then committed to Clemson. If Lawrence had gone to UGA, UGA would have won a couple more championships.
I respect Dabo's principles and how he's trying to manage his roster and put the focus on the players he recruits. HOWEVER, the mark of a good leader is adaptation. In an era where college football resembles nothing it use to it's imperative Dabo adapts to the new REALITY. He doesn't have to be a Portal extremist like Prime, where you change out your team every year. Dabo should follow the Kirby model, recruit well, develop and retain as many players as possible and fill in the gaps through the Portal when required.
As a Clemson fan, I was pretty optimistic about this game going into halftime. Then I remembered.. UGA makes the BEST halftime adjustments I've ever seen, even dating back to last year. It's like Kirby tells them, do whatever and play defense first half. Second half, all the tricks comes out and Clemson was just unprepared. Clemson's season is not over yet, I can see them making it to the ACC Championship and possibly sliding into the 8-12 spot in the CFB Playoffs
Just watched the FSU game. Dang, if only they could open up the portal and get some good players. Oh wait. It’s not all black and white. The portal isn’t the one true answer. Look deeper. It’s the coaching, playcalling, and development of players. Sure some portal action would help but it wouldn’t change the score board on Saturday. Something has to change for Clemson. And it isn’t the transfer portal.
Looking at Clemson’s schedule they could easily win out get a playoff spot and get crushed. If Clemson gets into the playoffs this year it’ll prove there’s to many playoff teams.
Yes I agree - I do think they'll gather themselves and do quite well this season. With that said I have always thought 12 is wayyy too many teams. I don't like the idea of a team with say 3-4 losses squeaking into the playoffs and getting the opportunity to beat a team that lost 1 or maybe none during the regular season. Why are we giving sub-par teams the chance to do this??? Reminds me of the wild card crap in baseball - division winners rarely go on to the world series and win because you allow a team that didn't earn a spot in the playoffs to come in hot and beat the division winner.
I keep saying this...... Georgia's offense is nearly an identical match to the New England Patriots from 2009-2018. And still noone can stop it with any consistency.
Huge tight ends, 12-13 personnel groupings, tall and lanky wide receivers with tiny, shifty ultra fast under-recruited white kids, but with a big difference---New England doesn't have the running back pedigree UGA has. Hell-noone does. You can't possible craft a defense to account for all the different variables listed above, but occasionally a loss happens. Go Dawgs. Good luck to our opponents.
As an Alabama fan I’m just so glad Alabama dodged the Dabo Swinney or Mike Norvell bullet. Those two names were tossed around during the extremely short coaching search. Both of which are proving this season that their programs are headed in the wrong direction. So far I couldn’t be more happy with coach DeBoer, from recruiting to what I’ve seen on the football field he seems to have Alabama headed in the same direction Saban had them at. I guess you could say I’m glad we have coach “DeBo” and not coach “Dabo” 😂 Roll Tide!!!
Only person I’ve heard talk about this is Brooks Austin, but Clemson changed their whole defensive identity for Georgia. In years past and the spring game, Clemson is a man defense, pressure style of team. Well they came out in some soft zone and cover 3. Then they started running mixed coverage, but never came around to their identity as a man defense. So Georgia prepared for a man blitzing team, got an entirely different scheme come time to play, and then adjusted live to attack the new weaknesses. The bobo slander needs to stop.
Etienne is a transfer portal star and UGA did not need him against Clemson. Transfer portal is great but at times its value can be overstated. UGA develops the hs kids at such a rate that outpaces other teams and thats the biggest difference. The backups are basically starters
As a Georgia fan I’m happy but what makes me happier is I think Clemson going 10-2. Hear me out if you look at who their competition is you think I’m not so crazy after all. Not only that the top 3 in the ACC are Miami, Louisville, and Clemson. They definitely still have a chance plus I hope they finish out well because it’s a good look on Georgia. Their QB better play better than he did tho.
DABO did the unthinkable at Clemson. Clemson fans need to understand that once NIL hit, those days are over. Once a decade of NIL has come and gone, the divide will be even greater in college football. Most people will end up loosing interest because it will only be the teams with the deepest pocket books that are the only contenders. Be thankful for what he did because you’ll never see it again.
You don’t have to use the portal if you can develop your team and do it quickly. The portal for elite programs is to fill holes and immediate needs and to create competition. Clemson clearly has holes and if recruiting isn’t filling, Dabo has to adapt if he wants to remain relevant.
I know exactly where you are bro. We were sitting there watching the same thing happen to us around 10 years ago, but at least you guys have two national championships fairly recently to help ease the pain 😂 at that time it had been 40 years for us.
Everyone wanted to talk when we lost a game we were supposed to lose, but when we absolutely embarrass another team that I’ve been hearing all week was gonna pull the upset at Clemson…now nobody wants to talk…
I'm a Clemson grad. We got decapitated. Problem wasn't the lack of transfer portal players. Problem was a mediocre offensive game plan, not executed all that well.
imagine a nfl gm got hired and said “im not signing no free agents just resigning and my own players and develop them” how soon would that gm be fired?
He was confused by the message that Coach Smart gives players in the locker room. He says, "Don't watch the scoreboard." He never says it doesn't matter. Play every play like it's the most important play because it is and then play the next play the same. I think that message resonates better when you're ahead. Go Dawgs!
literally first time I’ve ever thought about “ maybe Clemson is past Dabo” It’s a horrible almost shameful thought for a man who brought home two Nattys to Clemson. but he created this standard.
The first half of that game was the very beginning of the season! The first LIVE FIRE! Of course both teams would be a little rusty! However, the second half was the second game of the season for Georgia, the new feeling of the first live game was OVER! Now it’s time to go out and execute and win this game. It wasn’t that Clemson was bad, the reality is that Georgia is just that good. The only reason it was that close in the first half was because it was the first game of the season.
@My-by Again Clemson's Offense was a non factor of course UGA had something to do with it. The game was a game, but regardless of how great a defense is they simply can't stay on the field but so long. Clemson's Offense didn't sustain much of anything. Taking nothing away from UGA! Clemson's Offense failed them!
