Both before and now people are often restricted from employment, mistreated, disowned, and threatened on a daily basis. In red states, they may legally be kicked out of their homes if they rented them. LGBT+ people want nothing more than to live their lives like everyone else does and be who they are. That's it. They want to be treated just like everyone else. That's all they've ever asked and they've bled for it and continue to do so.

Democracies are still governed by international human rights laws. Otherwise a countries could vote to round up all the fundamentalist christians and execute them. Without human rights laws you have no rights to religious freedom.

No one has a right to violate human rights. It is against international law. If you don't follow international laws there is nothing to protect a tiny nation like Uganda from a larger nation taking them over. If Uganda is very poor and weak and if it wants continued aid from western nations it should stop violating international human rights laws. Africa has long been seen as uncivilized and unable to govern itself and actions like this just support that argument.

Every practice based on cultural aspects, customs and religious beliefs that violates the human rights of any social group anywhere in the world is a crime. Human rights are above any kind of religious fundamentalism. The same discourse and argument from the Christian Bible used to condemn homosexuals was also used to justify colonialism, African Enslavement and Racism. Slavery was justified by narratives in the Christian Bible such as the papal bulls "Dum Diverse" and "Romanus Pontifex" in which the Catholic Church under the leadership of Pope Nicholas V authorized the kingdom of Portugal and Spain to explore African territories and capture and enslave the pagan and non-christian african peoples.

When parents divorce, a family is broken, but if they are mature about it, all parties involved are happier. What do you mean there are no tough laws about stealing? Now...I will disclaim and say: Cheating and adultery and divorce are all wrong. Am in no way condoning them... However, this vice wipes out generations. No moving forward, no negotiation, just no future. That is why the laws against it shouldn't just be punishment, but also deterrent. But my suggestion remains...all these Western countries should give these people asylum. Nobody will stand at the airport and stop them from leaving. Trust me. Win-Win

The number of comments basically agreeing that killing a group of people just for being who they are is really concerning. It is another country so they have the right to have those laws, but I still don't see killing someone being justified regardless. It's not their job for judgment. Regardless of what laws in place people will be who they are which is okay as long as it doesn't hurt others.
