It is ironic that we don't see more brands picking up black women for UGC deals YET we see more black women advertising products in commercials for brands. There's a huge disconnect there.
I was just thinking about this. I’m new to the UGC space I found it hard to find creators that resonate with me. It made me a bit nervous to continue. Although a year later, your video came right on time. Thank you for your valuable content!
I was feeling like this and sometimes still do but I’M NOT QUITTING! Period! When God is for you who can be against you? That’s the only yes I need! Everyone and everything else has to fall under HIS INSTRUCTIONS. That’s where I find my comfort and peace when it comes to doing ANYTHING with social media and beating the odds because of my skin color!
After watching this video, I decided to message some brands that had no people of color in their skincare products. I pitched them and offered to promote diversity into their brand and how representation matters and how I’d love to offer my services. I was flabbergasted when I was left on SEEN. Imposter syndrome is so real and it’s crazy seeing girls who look like models talking about how they made $2k+ their first month. While I’m being offered gifted collabs and dmed by sketchy brands🙄
I just got offered a UGC opportunity, it was my first one. If so did not do my research prior, I would have taken anything. The brand really tried to ignore my pricing and low ball me. Stand firm on your worth and your prices sis!!
@@Chauntihanna I charged basically $100 per image/or video. They wanted a lump some of 4-5 pics, so I was willing to cut them a deal. But it fell threw sadly, we couldn’t agree
I honestly got so down when I saw the title of this video because I thought my UGC content creating and Influencer dream was over because of being a black woman. I'm so glad I watched the video, and now see I can pave the way myself and work on my pitching and be able to do this. Thank you for this video because it was eye opening and inspirational. It will be a lot of hard work, and a huge mindset shift, but it will be worth it to make my dreams come true. I'm a bit scared now, but I'm going to move forward and take my first steps and make my portfolio, etc. I've got to try before giving up!

I definitely felt this comment. I want to take the dive into UGC but I only see them. I definitely don’t fit the societal norms for even black women. But I’m a black woman with Albinism I’m here, and I live my life like everyone else.

On another note, do you recommend we reach out to Brands on the account that has fewer followers? For example, their Instagram has 70k followers vs their TikTok has 5K followers. Should we reach out to one or both?

I came across this video trying to understand what the heck is "UGC" - User Generated Content - Thank you for this video. I've tried the pitch and so far, did get the response that they are not ready to be on a podcast yet, but will send me one of each of their products to create content. Though I like the product. I think it would be good for my customers as well. My question to you is, do you still do a video for their product even though the company turned you down?

Hello... I'm in Africa and i really want to start ugc. But I don't even have a tiktok or Twitter yet, so I don't have the slightest amount of followers to be able to show that I'm not so new in the whole thing. Secondly, do you think these brands would want to work with an African? Cos I'm not even in the US first of all🥺
