Looks great. The front on the drip tray only has a couple of tabs which you can bend outwards with a flat head screwdriver or a pick tool in order to separate the metal cover from the plastic drip tray so you can wrap it. People tend to steam the paint or hit the drip tray with the portafilter so wrapping it could help a little i guess. The front panel would be annoying to wrap but it would look pretty good wrapped up. I'd also be willing to grab some of that metallic paint and see if you could "gold plate" the plastic knobs. That'd look sick... Oh no.. you're giving me ideas..
I have the white Breville Espresso Pro and it turns out the color the factory applies is, yep, vinyl wrap. It's peeling off at year three. I can't believe they cheated out like that.
Great video, was there a reason you guys decided not to kinda dissassemble things before wrapping it? Just wondering if it would've been easier to remove the knobs etc wrap over the entire piece and then cut the holes or if theres something I'm missing that would make that harder?
it probably would've have, the reason is: laziness + less fuss. It's probably not hard to remove the knobs, I just couldn't be bothered to look into it. I forewent wrapping the front with the screen and knobs because it just felt like too much of a hassle and I was getting the overall look I wanted by wrapping the big side panels. I may wrap the bottom front though.
my god I don't think that would be worth it at all in terms of cost but you could always try those task apps to see if there are any people who do it for cars or otherwise and would be able to wrap it for you! Drip tray the front would be easy the top, so not worth it IMO with all the holes but maybe I'm wrong. I may wrap the front of mine to just have more continuous white, originally I wanted to wrap the top part and also hide some of the graphics since I only use MANUAL button but all the cutting of holes just made it less worth it for me. Though, I suppose you could wrap a flat piece over and then go over carefully with the knife to remove all the holes for screen and buttons and lights
Do you have any detailed reviews of the Slayer mod performance / recommended usage? I have a 920XL as well, and I'm a fellow Canuck. Looking for ways to step up my game (I'm an enthusiast as well, but far from an expert).
I'm honestly still gathering info on this one, slayer mod was going well for me sometimes and sometimes not so I'm going back to the basics and adjusting things and figuring it all out, eventually when I feel confident to release a video about it I will but I'm not there yet
