So the thing about catching someone from on high is that when you fall onto the ground you suddenly and immediately stop. When someone catches you that person can bend their legs and drop their arms down which safely reduces momentum. If the person you're catching is heavy you'll probably strain some muscles in your shoulders and back. With someone as smol as Muir you would easily be able to catch her from a second story fall without any real issue so long as you're even kind of in shape yourself.

as far as falling is concerned, the main point of damage that is caused by falls are because the organs inside the body are shifted at such a force that they cannot stay in the spots they are meant to, lighter body's only reduce this slightly, but any impact that would break bones does so based on the solidity of the surface which is landed upon, a rock, dirt, or even water if you are high enough can be fatal. where as if whatever you land on is SOFT like another person, the force can be cushioned and reduced to less deadly amounts, common landing surfaces are things like hay, where the hay itself has a lot of unoccupied space to disperse the force. the hard parts like bones need a soft surface with GIVE to properly reduce chances of breaking, where as internal organs need to have the speed reduced gradually enough to not be forcefully displaced.

There is a tldr below that tell u what this post is. In some instances The catch Fall scenario can be explained. Here is an example. If someone is falling from a 20 story building . Who was on the top floor originally and someone who was in a near by building. Let's say about 8 stories below notice decided to jump through and catch the other person. The falling person at most would have a few bruised ribs, a possible broken arm from the impact with the person catching them and whatever damage they get from breaking through the window as well as the landing on that ground when they roll into the building.(also some very minor brain damage from the whiplash and a sore neck) This is due to a few factors. 1st the force needed for the just to made would be hitting the person who was falling. The next is the roll i mentioned Lessing the damage to both parties. Now if the type shown here in the video was done from a lethal height then i would just chalk it up to fantasy logic. Here is the tldr. Just me explaining how the high fall/catch stereo works in one specific instance in real world.
