Save yourself some awkward pipe clamp assembly: If you take some of those black oak cut offs and rip them down to 1/8" thick strips then cut them to the profile of your clamping pads they can then be epoxied on to the clamping pads so that you never have to add those blocks to prevent the clamps from marring the wood. I've done that to all my pipe clamps and have never had one come off. Beautiful work bench top, love that Rubio Mono Coat. Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your family Jason. Great video (as always) thumbs up (as always).
Another very nice piece from your workshop, Jason! Thank you for taking us on your adventures each year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Take some well-deserved time away from those cameras;-)
Merry Christmas Jason and a Happy New Year too. Looking forward to some new builds, plenty of milling and turning, and finishing up your shop and truck in the new year. Peace to you and your family.
Nice…. Looks great installed on the tool chest. Have a great Xmas and New Year yourself. Looking forward to more of your exploits in 2024 especially the truck rebuild 👍
Hi Jason! What to say have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR. I love all your video's. Some of that woods is to beautiful to use on different things like this work bench-HAHAHA!. Be safe & God Bless. Phoenix😄✌👍🌲☃❄🎄
You probably ought to have put your laser brand reminder to your friend on the workbech for a memento of where it came from. Something of this quality really shouldnt be anonymous ! Happy Holidaze to one and all ! !
Jason, that Rubio Mono coat really makes those projects Pop ! Can you tell me if that stuff is good for food grade finishes? Like cutting boards, wooden spoons, rolling pins? I'm in the process of making another rolling pin .This one has been filled with epoxy to reveal the voids in the cherry. Looking for a finish to apply rather than food grade mineral oil. Thanks again for your videos and Merry Christmas!
Really nice, Jason. Too nice for a workbench. As an alternative you could have undropped your saw lol. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Enjoy Hawaii. Bill
The worktop looks fantastic and the finish just sets it off…great job Jason…..wishing you and all your family a very merry Christmas and a very happy new year 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
That wood has air-dried for a few years. After I planed it, it sat by my wood stove for a few days just to be sure. My personal workbench is from the same wood and hasn’t moved at all so I’m pretty confident there won’t be any problems.
Another beautiful piece by the master. Makes a person want to display it instead of using it. Looking forward your next year milling and building videos. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay as sober as you can. LOL
Very nice tabletop...can you put that monocoat finish on what seems to be wet wood? or did you dry it off Camera? Have a very Merry Christmas from the so called "frozen North" .... it's 5 degrees C here, (that's t shirt weather)....and of course all the best in the New Year!
Thank you! That wood has actually air-dried for a few years. I built the workbench in my shop out of the same lumber and haven’t seen any movement. Stay warm, Russ!🎅🏽🎅🏽🎅🏽
Did you charge you buddy hazard pay for the hernia you got handling these beefy slabs? LOL The bench turned out great with some rather interesting grain patterns. Enjoy your holiday season with your family and friends.
Thank you! I haven’t been able to work on it yet. I’ve been working on a really big table project. I hope to get back to it very soon and will definitely show the results.
The lumber had been rained on but it’s been air drying for a few years. I built my bench top from The same wood and didn’t have any moisture related issues.
Tell me that beautiful oak top is NOT sitting on top of a Harbor Freight cabinet! LOL. ( just looks like the blue that I've seen on Hr. Freight tool chests! 😄 Beautiful bench top, Jason, I do hope the folks who will be using it will 'respect it' as much as possible. Merry Christmas to all in your home, and the best of good fortune(s) in 2024.
Thank you, Reg! I think the dealership provides those cabinets so I hope they aren’t HF😂. I jokingly told the service tech he wasn’t allowed to use it for anything other than looking at🤓
@@NorthwestSawyer Hahaha,.. I was actually thinking of nothing more than service manuals,...( if anybody uses them anymore! ) in which case, lunch table only.
Just finished work Christmas holidays start tomorrow the first think I click on is make a workbench . nice to watch some one else work and make stuff the same way on this side of the Atlantic Thanks Mr Northwest Sawyer 🌲🌲🌲🫖🫖🫖
