The Swedish establishment seem to care more about America than any other European country, let alone other nordic countries. when politicians made the decision to demolish the majority of Norrmalm in Stockholm they did it with the intentions of building a new Manhattan

What is this guy talking about. Sweden has some of the most beautiful cities, Stockholm being my favorite. It's true that those particular buildings are ugly, but that's not unique to Sweden, you can find ugly buildings in any city. I agree that we should be against bad architecture, but exaggeration doesn't help.

As you know almost all cities and towns were demolished in the 60's, there are very few beautiful ones left, which is a disaster. Stockholm is the most demolished capital in Europe, most of the wonderful city vanished 1952-76.
