My own guess is TennisTV has found higher viewership with "sensationalized titles" than if they omitted winner in advance. For example, if it said Alcaraz had won, less views since that would be what you would expect for an outcome. The more views the more money they will earn on youtube.
Yesterday, Humbert complained about not being put on centre court. Today, Humbert showed the Paris masters organisers why they must always put him on centre court 🤣
Better players than Humbert were also not playing on Centre Court. The arrogance (typical of a Frenchman). ☠️ BTW - I'm joking with the last part. I'm English so I'm allowed. 😂
@@9thCrusade what makes you think that? Humbert has also called Carlos “the best player in the world”. He obviously knows that playing Carlos means playing on centre court. I don’t know why you’re being so negative about him lol
@@Nancy-sf2pl i dont think roger rafa or nole ever asked for that and humbert is an infant compared to them. if theres a logistical or marketing reason im fine with that
Normally not a big fan of loud grunting , but from the beginning you could hear and feel Humbert’s grunting came from pure determination, physical effort and eagerness to win . Love it
It's loud for sure but for the right match it actually helps the excitement. If it's some asshole who can't play and grunts like an idiot to throw his opponent off, then I hate it too.
Ugo is one of the most dangerous players in the world when he's really seeing the ball like a watermelon - especially on fast, indoor conditions. And even more so against the top ranked players. He tends to take the ball on early and takes the racket out of the hand off his opponents by huge ballstriking and aggressive rushing, during rallies and on return of serves. An absolute nightmare to deal with.
People hate to admit that Alcaraz has not reached consistency like Sinner. Yes he’s amazing talent and he won 4 slams but on the other hand he has lost a dozen this year and many are out of Top 10. It’s like every match he plays, you need to keep fingers crossed to see if he will make to next round (irrespective of opponent).
I knew this would happen! I remember watching the UTS in Frankfurt recently (that fast variant of tennis with rounds and focus points) and fuming because Musetti lost against Humbert (I never saw him play before) to my surprise. He's strong. And he's really in excellent form right now.
Guys who are great, flat ballstrikers like Humbert are really Alcaraz’s kryptonite on faster indoor hard courts (Safiullin last year at this tournament, Novak at the ATP Finals 2023)
@@peekaboo15x38 the crowd liked him till 2011. as long as he was losing to Fedal he was liked , then everything changed into worst unsportmanship behaviour against any sportsman ever. And when he was 21, the world of tennis was dominated by 2 Gods and at Alcaraz 21 tennis is having no God in top form to challenge him, so we can never know(unless we are totally subjective) who is actually better at 21, Nadal, Djokovic or Alcaraz. Or overall, if Alcaraz wins 21 Slams, is it really fair to say that he is better than Federer, who had Tsar of clay exploiding so young in Federers prime era and never again will appear one with 14 RG, and also with Djokovic who also appeared as one in million players in tennis history in Federers prime taking from his at least 10 Slams.
I like Carlos and I know he's genuinely a really humble guy I just wish he'd quit with the finger to the ear after a great shot. The crowd are already cheering you dont have to tell them.
Carlos settled in and played superb tennis from set 2. in my opinion he was the better player from then on except at 5-6 when he lost focus. But Humbert was stunning in set 1, absolutely brilliant stuff and deserved to win because he hed firm when it mattered in set 3
Impressive win by Humbert. You can tell he really wanted it. Now with this loss, Zverev has an opportunity to be number 2 in the world again. And of course number 2 in the race to the ATP finals. Which is extremely key. Needs to reach the finals. So a win over Tsitsipas in the quarters and a win over Rune/de Minaur in the semis
Alcaraz hasn’t grown up playing indoors, that’s why this has always been his worst part of the year. Sinner is the exact opposite, he played a lot indoors as he is a mountain boy. So it’s not surprising the indoor hc season is where the difference between them will be the biggest. Don’t know about Humbert’s background, but he has always been most dangerous indoors and the home crowd support also helped.
Man as an Alacarz fan, it gets me sad to see him losing to players ranked fhimbeloe him. Not to take anything away from Humbert's amazing effort. Alcaraz has proven himself to be a big match player. However, he needs to work on getting through the early round grind to set up those big matches. He needs to tighten up his game and hopefully that comes with age and maturity. He's already accomplished so much, but he's capable of even more.
I appreciated Alcaraz leaving behind his awful sleveless vest and turned back to a normal jersey. That’s what impressed me more about Alcaraz during this last tournement.
Bravo Ugo !!!!!! Hugo Gaston - Paris Bercy 2021 Gael Monfils - Cincinnati 2024 Ugo Humbert - Paris Bercy 2024 3 French Tennis Players to beat Alcaraz An amazing raucous atmosphere by the Parisian crowd on Court Central
@@phantomaqHe's 21 give him some time, and yet at this age he's won more GS championships than some of the big three when they were his age, and honestly I see him as more talented than some of them.
No he’s bloody not he’s one of the more consistent players on tour. You just expect more from him because he’s a higher level. How are you gonna call someone who won 2 out the 4 slams this year painfully inconsistent smh
He did play well and in fact was match-to-match good with Carlos in a couple of sets at Wimbledon but couldn't seal important moments.Tonight he did that...
Alcaraz still fighting for consistency. Let's see if he can do something about it because it looks like it's part of himself and he will have to deal with that for the rest of his career. In any case, he's a solid candidate to become one of the greatest, no question about it.
@@rksleung interesting perspective. But then again I'd argue based on career stats that *Djokovic was designed for Torino courts* and just about any other court style :)
If he becomes more consistenet then he will have more injuries because he will play more matches, he has complaint for the "heavy calendar, it means he feels he is playing too many matches so his body gets tired.
From the second set onward, Alcaraz didn’t even play poorly. He played his B+ game, which is typically enough to dispatch anyone not named Sinner, Djokovic, Medvedev, or Zverev with relative ease. Humbert brought his A+++ game though. Hats off to him
This is again a wakeup call to Alcaraz fans who've basically assumed that he'll win everything in 2024 and beyond. It'll be very difficult for Alcaraz/Sinner to get even close to Djokovic's records.
I disagree that everyone assumes he is going to win everything. You can be a fan of something even if they lose. I actually see him as a talented underdog which makes his wins awesome to witness and his losses painful. It's like watching a Rocky movie, it's hard not to root for him even if you don't really know if he will win. As for reaching Nole records, yeah that's a high bar but given his age, he matches up to Nole atm. So we'll see how it pans out in the future...
It feels pleasingly good to witness some good grooves tennis in this 2024 with new and improved player, young and dynamic, qualities that fights the present to book its place in the future. While the 4 takes their place in the Olympus of tennis 🎾, we can all look ahead to the interestingly glorious path that beckons our dear sports. What a player Humbert, godspeed❤ ❤❤❤
@@test_case_7036 Snore. It's not an excuse for the loss. I just think a really delayed grunt isn't cool. Carlos might not have cared though, he is pretty loud himself.
Not a great first set by Alcaraz but a better second set and an absolutely insanely good third set. Humbert played well but honestly, at the end, I felt Alcaraz was much more deserving of the win. It's a big win for Humbert and tough loss for Carlos. I hope he recovers and plays a much better game in ATP Finals.
You my friend watched this game with the glasses of a biased man ;) "Insanely good" and yet he lost, that alone says what Ugo brought on the table at the end of the match. I found him much more intense and focused than Carlos, he really wanted to win when Carlos seemed like "Oh boy, not another match in Bercy against a determined frenchman..."
Man this is why I believe that Sinner will win more slams than Alcaraz. Sinner has a more complete game than Alcaraz’s, he’s more consistent and better across all surfaces hence why he’s the world number one. Alcaraz has insane potential and is very talented of course but he’s just not as consistent as Sinner. Had this been Sinner playing Humbert tonight then Sinner would have found a way to win. Yes Humbert played fantastically no one is doubting that, but Alcaraz needs to adapt his game to these types of players that can potentially hurt him if he wants to start being more consistent across all surfaces.
@@michael8597Maybe the same way Ugo's play/talent hasn't asn't won him any majors. I like Ugo, but you don't have to be disrespectful and disingenuous about Carlos to commend Ugo's play. 👌🎾🫂
He’s not, he just had that home player stat boost a lot of players seem to get, ie Kyrgios in Australia, Tiafoe in US, Gaston in Paris the list goes on
Alcaraz seems a nice guy but I can root for him only if he can lower his volume. His grunts are just too annoying. Ugo gave a taste of his own medicine at the end on the match point and it was really exciting to watch. On match point, Alcaraz didn't make a sound while Ugo was grunting for every shot that was barely 50% of his full power trying to fool Alcaraz and it worked!
Without Sinner, Alcaraz still can’t guaranteed for the champion , there must be a reason , lack of consistency and focus , he will only play his A level with A grade players , this always put him in danger with the potential great players , exit US Open , exit Paris Master ………
This is like a little Davis Cup for the Frenchmen right. Fils couldn't pull it off though. Humbert is a Dangerous Man and Carlos needs to find ways to get through these matches.
Tennis has a very long gruelling season and it is verily tough to win these big indoor hard court tournaments held towards the penultimate stage of the year. That is the reason why Novak is the Greatest because he holds the record of winning both Paris Masters and WTF seven times. That is a testament of his endurance, consistency, focus, resilience and mental strength which is very hard to emulate.
Could not say better. Alcaraz is experiencing how hard is going to be. Sinner appears on the very top, but he will be tested at every match because he is the top player now. Will see how these two endure the long grinding tournaments year after year. I like Alcaraz more but not showing same consistency as Sinner.
Yeah I was surprised at this too. Maybe it's to balance out the Vamos calls from Alcaraz? We'll have to see if this continues against other opponents going forward.
