I wondered how... it upset me to know I won't get a chance to come hear him play live. I stumbled upon UHOP videos a month ago... never knew what it was... I'm 41 years old. I wish Mr Ronnie would've stayed with us...
Rip Ronnie. I’ve been gone from the HOP for many years but I can never forget how I always knew you would be a great bass horn player when we were kids. I remember thinking how you reminded me so much of Zeb Harrison even as a kid. I wish we could have played together along with your brother. You at bass, your brother leading, me at tenor, Lil Ced Mangum leading, Rod Mangum on Baritone or drums lol, Miles Kilcrease Jr leading, Lavar Grier playing runs, Gerald White playing runs (now leading) and others. We were all kids coming into our own. All we needed was you and your brother but you guys were loyal to your band at Biddleville. We would have been an Allstar caste. Wow, such memories. You will be missed my brother! RIP

I'm gonna have to ask my Brothers and Sisters of The UHOP faith and family to forgive me... because I'm wearing this video slam out... LOL.. My Grandfather was born in 1892 he passed in 1997... Back in the day he played what they use to call a slide Horn and a true Tuba (I don't know..that's that old country talk)..lol.But I remember him and his band playing a church in Roanoke Rapids NC..in 64..,(the year when my mom's Cuzin Sam Cooke died).. anywho..my granddaddy and those musicians had that old wooden church literally rocking. The Pastor said..." Bro Jim...I don't know but...that there sounds like a hot 🔥 toon......But if you don't mind can you please play it again..)That was my introduction to that Great Getting up morning Gospel sound..And though I am a Pastor in a completely different organization... I still love ❣️ you Sisters and Brothers..One Lord, One Faith and one Baptism...RIP Brother White ( Angels saying .."listen to that 2nd line Gabe... that's crazy 😛😅 LOL
Y'all got that thang sounding so sweet...I mean everybody. Sounds like voices from the people singing too. Its Rockin'!...I'm not sure if I've ever heard 2nd Line style mixed with Quartet. Beautiful tone control!
That's what good music do...Impresses one, if you have the ear...You're right...When you have a good driving bass line, weather it's Gospel, or R&B, them feet can't stay still...They have to move...That's a fact...Lol...
I sang quartet ( I was a lead singer for the Soul Stirrers out o Chicago) that's a straight up jubilee bass run...And you'd better believe me when I say he's Killin it...
@@larrycancooke2 sure is!!! William Bobo (bass singer of the Dixie Hummingbirds) and Henry Bossard ( bass singer of the Swan Silvertones) used to pump bass like Ronnie on that Sousa!
@@itsmeslm He came after I left...but yes...he sings second and sometimes first lead with Willie Rogers..He has one of the sweetest tenors in all of Gospel...I believe he has done some things on his own...yes..???

He wasn’t irritated, sometimes when our bass horn player is in the pocket.. You just gotta stop and and just listen to what’s coming out of him , it sounds so dam good “” When we in Richmond Virginia had “ Davar “ on the bass horn another blessed bass horn player in the U.H.O.P. He would do things on that bass horn I would literally have to stop playing my horn and just look at him . Sometimes I would have to “ Hit him “ and say boy you better cut that out !! When you have a bass horn player that’s in his “ Zone and God is on him “ My god, My god the things that comes out of them !!
@@marvinmoses3866 I use to sing with two different quartets, one being the Soul Stirrers out of Chicago...and the other being the Hebrew Gospel Singers..I sang lead but was always alined and blessed to have a second lead singer...that was always amazing..or a musician that was out of this world.. With the Soul Stirrers..it was Martin Jacox..or Reginald Funderburk...the most unusual voices every placed in a human...do awesome where these brothers until, if I wasn't careful... I'd get transfixed on them and loose my place in a song..They are soooo underrated..But with the Hebrew Gospel Singers, it was the Bass player, Jack... I've traveled all over the 🌎🌍 Planet..and have never encountered a Bass player with such an amazing ear... I still shake my head when I think about these Anointed brothers...so I agree with you 100% my brother.. Listening to Brother Ronnie White or playing horn beside him... would be like me singing beside my cousin Sam Cooke....lol mesmerizing.. LOL 🤣😆🤣
