Interview with Chad Curtis about his installation, called Digital in Nature, exhibiting at UICA from February 5March 5 2010.
Work by Chad Curtis investigates the relationship of organic, living beings to the complex, nuanced environment and digital landscape. Each piece utilizes, to some degree, a crude, home brewed fabrication-and-drawing machine that relies on digital design tools, and computer numeric control.
Chad Curtis currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Temple Universitys Tyler School of Art. Trained in Ceramics and Printmaking, Curtis earned his BFA from Minnesota State University and his MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
