Our stay was at Indore, and so we started our journey at 5:30 AM in the morning by car and reached Ujjain at 7 AM.
Due to Friday morning, there was less crowd and we were able to do the Darshan very nicely. We parked our car in the basement parking near Bharat Mata Mandir Temple.
Important: You are not allowed to take cameras along with you. You can take mobile but videography is prohibited.
After visiting Mahakaleshwar Temple, we visited many small temples inside the temple corridor and Mahakal Lok was best with monuments.
You can hire Auto Rickshaw from Ujjain at a rate of Rs 500 - 700 to visit all the famous temples of Ujjain. It is the most convenient transport option other than Scooty two-wheeler.

Important: I recommend all to keep your chappals and shoes inside the rickshaw you hire as there is a high risk of getting them stolen inside various temples.
We had our lunch at a very big open Dhaba style restaurant named Shri Radha Madhav which is very famous for their Unlimited Daal Baati Bafla dish.
In the evening we attended the world-famous Arti at Shipra River Banks and Har Siddhi Mata Temple. We were really over-joyed after attending both these Artis.
We returned to Indore at 10:30 PM with a lot of memories along with us.
