They don't get this money by working, it's usually borrowed, land disputes or something that allows them to get this money. It's a one shot opportunity for them to invest all this money into getting into another country and there's no going back because people might be looking for them. @@DangerTV I do love the accent, yes, but it's much more; the shows are put together so well that they are engaging from start to finish. I can almost imagine what it feels like from both the perspective of the border patrol agent(s) and the illegal entrants. I don't think they could make such a show in the USA. The interaction between people in the US is certainly not the same, there's usually more unnecessary force / violence / profanity / racial slurs or simply rude behaviour from both the authority and the person committing a crime that it's just ends up becoming a vulgar form of "entertainment".

Comfortable? Comfortable? People who are desperate enough to leave everyone and everything they know, spend their last cent and are ready to do the most grueling work with no security and always at risk of being exploited are NOT looking for a 'comfortable life.' In some cases, it's a matter of pure survival for themselves and their families in their home country. For some of these people, they may be the only hope for their family to escape hunger and want or get an education or have enough money to escape a war zone or famine. If you are sneaking into a country instead of flying in first-class, you are not looking for 'comfort' but a chance at a decent life compared to the hell you face at home. I work with foreigners living in my country, most of them either students or professionals, and they all miss their home country, family, food, familiar people, places and things, their culture... They may know it's a huge advantage to have a European education or to live in a stable, peaceful, well-organized country, but they have made huge sacrifices (or their family has in the case of most students) for the 'opportunity.' If they could work or study at the same level in their own country, they'd be in their own country.

Reading your comment I understand now why he replied about the money. "Tell me about the course" misheard as "tell me about the cost."

The student was nervous as you would expect. But there is no excuse for failing to understand "What is the structure of the course?" The officer even rephrased the sentence but still failed to understand. Good command of English is a requirement for University education and indeed for a student visa.

@@zakariafarah1101 Exactly, there's no way he would have had success at University with that level of English. It sucks but it's the truth

It's WILD to me that people who cannot produce a passport can't be removed. A) they should be in the system. B) if they don't have a passport odds are they not there legally.
@UTClassof
@UTClassof 2 года назад
if they cant prove where they are from, where would they put them? They could lie and get sent to a different country. The accepting country may also have a law that requires a passport to enter, even if they are deported from somewhere else.
