Nice work Del. Small tricks like not pairing of the dowels to pointed is where experience counts. 👌. I think alot of carpenter's are versatile from roofing to being very tasty at finish work. For me carpenter's make the best overall builder. They understand stand square,Parallel, level, marking out, forward thinking. Rant over 🤣. Looking forward to the next video on the stairs. Better than any Netflix documentary 🤣🇮🇪👍

Nice on Del, looking good. I find the best way to combat FDB syndrome is to combine it with an NPD (New Pencil Day), it just gives you that little extra pep in your step to help you get through it ;-)

Love it Del👍🏻 started working for a stair guy years ago, I was excited about it as it’s not something you do much of, unless your doing it if you follow😂 guys he had were guns at stairs at least, and boss was up there, very knowledgeable both sides of the fence ( manufacturing and installation) ‘Oz stair’ as luck would have it he lost his major contract with a very large ( national builder) which was his bread and butter work, to nice to F me off as he’s just started me and been out with his boys a bit, a lot of hanging around workshop… ‘kitting out my van’ the very odd stair install for me, and I had to say to him ‘wtf is going on just level with me’. Then I went back to kitchens I think 🙄 Squeaks was my main worry going into it as , you know what a ‘repair’ that would be 🙄 I was always going to use the PU glue that expands, bad idea? ( if it was a good idea you’d be doing it I’m thinking 😂) Anyways I usually chicken out the odd stair job that comes my way, as I’d get there but it would be like death back heat! SLOW. I’d Make zero cash 😂
@thetallcarpenter
@thetallcarpenter 2 года назад
Hi OSC🖐Sounds like you got the run around there mate😩I would us PU glue if I was attempting to 'repair' a squeaky tread, but I think you'd get in a right mess using it on stairs like these😬(I jokingly mention this in the next part of the video) Thanks for your comment bud😎Cheers Del

@@thetallcarpenter nah I just think it was my usual luck mate, extremely bad 😂 seen them make some lovely stairs in their factory, on spiral where they build a stud frame mock up, a lot of ‘fudging’ or putting Timbers in place then using a router ie. for handrail, I’d have been crapping my pants for fear of F ups, but they cracked on. That might be the normal way, I wouldn’t know, maybe 5-6 straight flights in my life!

MDF stairs? If someone spills a drink these will swell up and disintegrate. I don't care how many specifications they whip up, I'd be extremely hesitant to make anything constructive out of glued up sawdust.
