Hi. I recently completed a levels and decided not to go universty right now. I am aiming for a trainee surveying position. I have come across 2 problems and that is the trainee positions often require a driving license and the other problem is technical requirements like reading construction document and quantity surveying specific hard skills. I am taking driving lessons so solving that issue is straight foward. For the technical knowledge i have come across some free courses on udemy for various technical topics. Is this enough in your opinion to satisfy the technical requirements for the time being. The ones I intend to take are free udemy which means you are not awarded a certificate. Should I take the paid ones instead to obtain a certificate or do you think that its is not necessary. Thank you in advance.

Hello, thank you for your comment. It is hard for us to say conclusively what will be enough to satisfy the requirements of the companies you are looking at. However, most will probably favour 'formal CPD' which must be structured. The certificates can be a great way to evidence formal CPD but speaking with the specific companies you are interested in would be the best way forward to understand what it is they specifically require.
